Lets see custardy defend this one... today i got a parcel with the contents missing and NOT in any damaged bag etc...

TBH am getting so sick of this !!!!!... happens on a daily basis almost.. had so many items ermmm "not reach me" , so many items of other ppls mail delivered here..its hit or miss whether mail gets to this destination or not.. I was advised to take it to my MP as even speaking face to face with Delivery Office manager and being assured my post is being checked and monitored failed to stop todays empty package (;) ) happening..however MPs are now off til September and i dread to think what can happen to all our post since then.. Have contacted Postal Review Board as they do not seem to be taking this seriously..

you post is checked at the DO
mail doesnt teleport from the supplier to the DO
    it travels through the system
check through my posts and you will never find one defendimg thieves
quite the contrary. it should carry a mandatory jail term if involves theft from mail

I just collect it up and put in the post box next time I'm passing one - just basically returning to Royal Mail what I consider as their property as I didn't request for it to be put throuigh my letterbox :D

further to previous another so called checked item was recieved today with contents missing. prior to thiswhile was in the shower got a call form delivery office manager asking me to call him back . have been on the phone now since 9.30 and its now12.30 according to my watch... nobody ever answers. I need to tell this guy that the mail he supposedly checked his again arrived contents missing.

Someone in that system or DO custardy is at very least mail tampering and as far as I am concerned id call it stealing out and out. todays one was very neat and clean looked like scissors had been used..

Got home today around 10am to find a red note saying they'd tried to deliver a parcel but no one was in,but I could collect it two hours after the time he called (0930),so I went to the PO in the town at (1145) only no parcel & the 2hr was 'only an estimate'....
No point me going up home so I went to the pub & had a pint & tried again at 1225,just before the PO closed,so thank you very much PO for wasting my Saturday morning, hanging around the town to collect a parcel that SHOULD have been returned to the PO by 1130!
No where on the advice slip does it say it's an approximate time, yes,I could've had it redelivered but I could not guarantee when I'd be home nor my neighbors for alternate delivery.
Very shoddy service.. To me,the please allow '2' hours before collection means that, not 2 1/2 or 3 hours,it's not as if the town I live in is very big,you can walk from one side to the other in 20 minutes..!

well perhaps they expected to be there
    things happen
vehicle break downs being a common one
more of an issue now as more duties are van based and RM are phasing out their own garage/repairs services

Lets face it some posties dont give a toss and the OP has one, so complain.
Must admit I have always had good posties, apart from one who walked across my lawn, I asked him to stop & he did.
As for theiving, UK , I believe, is becoming a less honest place so I kind of expect to get stolen from occasionally if I'm not on my guard.
