Royal Mail - how about actually delivering THE MAIL ??

There was recent programme on TV about the amount of "rubbish" that Royal Mail deliver nowadays.
Two days ago they seemed to have sunk to new depths with my mail.

I was waiting for delivery of some new RAM memory boards from Play.Com.
I heard the postman putting stuff through the letter box and went to see if my boards were there.
NO ! 6 different pieces of junk mail. Then, through the glass of my front door I can just make out something on the doorstep. I open the door and there are my three boards laying there - just dumped. Each in a separate thin box which would have easily gone through my letter box.

It appears that Royal Mail now have a different interpretation of "Second Class" post :mad:

You CANNOT opt out of local junk mail !!!!! the so called opt-out system are useless:

"The Door-to-Door Opt-Out will prevent between three and six pieces of junk mail per week - more than the Mailing Preference Service and Your Choice combined."

    a. They don't work.
    b. I get that much in a DAY.

Perhaps you should watch some programmes about it and learn something !
Also - you should actually read my post and understand what it was about - it was NOT "crying" about junk mail..............

I just wish they would push the mail through the letter box and not leave it hanging outside.
Trying to learn something new every day.

    no you dont
the contract limit for RM is 6 per duty on unaddressed items per week
if you are referring to addressed mail then thats what people are sending
if you get loads of addressed junk then join the MPS and learn how to work tick boxes

Today I received UNADRESSED letters from Talk-Talk and Virgin, and a leaflet for the local costcutter, and one for the local co-op (all from the postie)
Yesterday I received an undressed letter from BT, a leaflet for farmfoods, one for somerfield.
Wednesday I received a leaflet for the local Morrisons and one for stairlifts.

I could carry on, but I assume I don't need to, there're more than 6 there alone. All these are pushed through by the postie, and it's getting ridiculous.

    I repeat again
the maximum per week is 6 contracts
most duties dont even get near that
I dont know about you but i get more than 6 a week
    but its not from RM
I refer you back to my first post
instead of crying and counting it all out
    opt out

I signed up for the collect service and guess what..The mail is still (2 weeks after the start date confirmed by the Royal Mail) going to the property.
Pointless to say the least and after 3 complaints it is not getting any better.

Funny though, they managed to keep a pizza promo thing for me but all the proper letters and bills they just sent out as before.

All I have managed to collect for the past 2 weeks is rubbish either addressed to "the occupier of xx" or "just the address "
