I cannot fathom why there is any loyalty there whatsoever considering RM would not even remember this guys name. Its pathetic.
Hes a sad baby:rotfl:0 -
Im in the phone and mailing preference service. it does not prevent the junk getting through.(we live in a secured entry building so i know its nto random leafletters). also RM are paid to deliver junk which will always get delivered despite your opting out./ signing up to the preference services:mad:
PS re the Royal mail threads.. you always get custardy turning up to vogiourously defend posties/RM etc... should we be asking why he is an EX postie???
thats right,it doesnt
now you have worked that one out
how about you now opt out
I know I have mentioned it but you seem to be struggling so i will assist you once more
http://www2.royalmail.com/you-home/controlling-your-mail
as for your final point
you are very wrong
in fact i get accused of being pro/anti RM
I have been called a disgruntled ex employee
having issues with management
I deal in facts, given you seem to have little grasp of those I will elave you to research
and George still stalking around I see0 -
The solution is surely to complain to Play.com etc about what happened. If enough people kick off then they will switch to another delivery system - e.g. courier delivering to the door.Adventure before Dementia!0

The opt out system is a farce barely worth bothering with because Royal Mail deliberately make it harder than it needs to, and as ineffective as possible. For instance they claim that anything addressed to the occupier has to be delivered - I can accept that if it says "The Occupier, my house, my street etc) but just printing "The occupier" on a piece of junk doesn't mean its addressed.
What we need is a mass internet campaign to get everyone to opt out so that this nonsense is stopped. Once "direct mail" stops being a viable source of income for RM it will have to address the nonsense of sending posties round to every house every day despite the fact that very little that is that urgent is delivered by mail these days (and for those special delivery etc exists). I would be quite happy if delivery frequency for ordinary mail was cut to every two or three days.Adventure before Dementia!0 -

companies use it,so it must work
I dont know why more people dont opt out given so many moan about it0 -

Surely common sense says they shouldnt have to opt out. They should not receive junk anyway, you should be opting in if you want it.
Does not affect me anyway as I rarely get junk mail. Address the main issue though please regarding the clever staff not being able to post an item through a letterbox.0 -

whats to address?
the op needs to complain
companies know nobody will opt in
Its too late now
RM is dommed
the 6 day delivery is doomed
the one price delivery service is doomed
these are the good times0 -

But the courier companies pass most of the smaller packages to Royal Mail for delivery as part of the "downstream access" agreement.Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T0 -

As I have said earlier in this debate, it would be nice if the postie would make sure that the post and/or junk mail is pushed through the letter box and not left hanging outside for any passing housebreaker to notice and conclude that there is no one at home. As to the junk mail it goes straight into the recycling bin anyway.
I think that is the point that Johnnyboyrebel was making.

An attempted break in was made on my home because of this problem, luckily I arrived home just as the culprits were trying to wiggle through a window they had forced open.Trying to learn something new every day.0
