If the police palm you off with saying its a civil matter then print the following legislation and make a complaint to the IPCC of a further offence of Perverting the Course of Justice.
The police are unlikely to investigate a complaint of this type. I feel you would better to speak to your constabulary CID and set up an appointment with a specific detective and bring with you, the telephone calls on your laptop.
If you can get a crime number, OFFCOM can sanction the use of the offenders telephone subscriber line. Im not sure how this works with government departments, but if a specific person is manking the nuisance calls, its their own private subscriber line they lose because the ban is imposed by Offcom on the offender making the calls.0 -

Thanks for this, I had no idea the law was on my side. (and thanks to letsby as well !!).
My MP never mentioned anything about this, but lets wait for the letters to reach the CSA, and if I capture another telephone call then we can follow the telecommunications act.
Im not sure what you mean by perverting the course of justice, do you mean the CSA is perverting? or a police officer?0 -
Re pestering phone calls you see bordering on harassment of course you can stop them with letter, then then have to only communicate re letter, thats the same wether a dca is after you or anyone. If they continued after you have asked them not to then you can do them for harassment via the correct channels.
They can write to you as often as they like though as long as following csa rules properly .:)0 -

James, when you send your letter, ask the post office counter for a certificate of posting, this is not the same a proof of posting. This is certificated posting.
If you really want to catch out the CSA then do this, it worked a treat for me in writing off lots of arrears, but is not guaranteed.
Send the letter in duplicate, one certificated, and the other by recorded delivery. The CSA sometimes refuse to sign for a letter and it bounces back. This proves the letter did reach its destination. You now have corroborated proof of delivery.
The duplicate was received by the CSA because it was refused, and the certificated didn’t not need a signature so the PO box address they were sent is a working address.
It also proves the CSA is deliberately trying to avoid receiving written communications. It doesn’t matter if the CSA says it was a mistake, its irrefutable at a tribunal.
Remember, send it twice, certificate and the other, recorded.
Ive sent you a PM with a nice little CSA gem.
This is fantastic, trouble is I sent two letter but didnt think of the certificate bit. I'll print off another one. no harm.
Ive replied to your PM, interesting.... give me a minute.0 -
