Morning Cinny. Love your bedroom. It is indeed very sultry!!!
I think Max feels (a bit) better this morning. He had a very unsettled night (as did we) and is still not eating but did have a bottle at 4 something am this morning so great that he got some liquids into him. He must be starving though.
OH is working tomorrow and I am working part of Sunday so not much plans for us this weekend. Max is not allowed back to nursery until next Thursday so have to take TOIL on Monday. I have TOIL booked for next Friday as well and am determined I am going to have my day off and sleep in!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Another fan of the bedroom here Cinny! Lovely! Squishy bed plans sound good too!
Glad to hear Max seems to be on the mend, poor little thing. I really hope you do manage to get your lazy day CMD!
I'm not really sure about our weekend plans, think we're meeting OH's family for brunch in the morning and there's a parade tomorrow afternoon, and we can actually watch this year as we're not on a float, so that'll be fun, although it does mean we're stuck at home for hours as our road will be closed. OH has asked me to come up with a plan for after the parade but I'm coming up totally blank. I hate it when rugby's not on as he gets really antsy on Saturday afternoons then gets cross with me because I can't come up with a plan, yet everything free I suggest gets shot down in flames and we can't afford to go shopping/to the cinema etc... what am I supposed to do?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Morning all! eep, sounds like Dinah was having a slight episode there before she left hope she managed to cross a few more things off her list! Very lovely flooring but can't believe they didn't bring it in for you! What if you were a little old lady?
So glad the new haircut is better Lara - are you feeling a bit better about everything?
Very pretty bedroom Cinny, I could crawl in there now!Desperately want some new pillows, mine have lost their ploomf.
Glad Max seems to be on the mend CMD, and it's sort of a blessing that it's getting you out of work for a few days too. You know for a fact you won't be able to sleep on your morning off!
My ex was like that Birdie, always making me decide on what to do but rejecting everything I suggested - it's so frustrating. Blimmin stoopid men.
I'm off for a parkrun in the morning, then up to Newcastle to meet a friend for HARRY POTTER, then going to a specialist running shop in the Metro Centre on the way home to have my gait analysed and hopefully get some running shoes that don't bruise my toes. The shop has a sale on but I also have a £15 voucher for non-sale items so fingers crossed it won't be too expensive.
Managed to list a grand total of two items on ebay last night - go me. Free listing over the weekend though so will try and get the rest done on Sunday.
And got a letter from the police offering me a speed awareness course instead of points for an extra £20, because they're all about education not prosecution (aye right, and profit) - fingers crossed they'll do the same for ticket #2 as well but as it'll be my second in a week maybe they'll think I'm beyond educating! But at least I know I won't have 6 points which is a relief. Didn't realise the course was FOUR HOURS! Augh!
Sorry long ramble, it's cos I haven't posted since yesterday AM!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Nice cheap weekend for me, finishing a charity treasure hunt round york and going to see a friends artwork in an exhibition where I've been promised wine!

Morning all,
Hope the fridge situation was resolved before Dinah and NIMs holiday.
Well done on the savings archersluck!
Glad Max is a bit better CMD, good that he had a bottle this morning.
Sounds like everyone has nice weekends planned. I need to do my packing for next week. Also might need to find a launderette if they don't come and fix the machine today. My Mum and sister are coming here on Sunday to stay as we are setting off mon morning.0 -
Hi Dinah
I found your first diary the other day and have started reading. Your love story is so cute and it's really inspiring how you have paid off so much in such a short space of time. Reading your diary has actually given me another kick up the butt I need to get going with selling my stuff. I've been with a new boyfriend for a couple of months and like you at the beggining with NIM I know he is the one. I've known him for a year and a half and it's always been him, whether I admitted it to myself or not! He has asked me to move in with him the end of the year (we have only officially been together almost 2 months and my parents haven't met him yet lol), so that and with reading your diary I have been really inspired to get rid of a load of stuff and pay off my credit cards. I have about £3200 to go with about £1800 to find after already allocated payments.
What I wanted to ask was I went to put some books up on Amazon last night, even just for a penny, but there were in some cases hundreds of people selling the same one at the same price and postage. Did you find this and still manage to sell? Also, I noticed you were signing up to a survey site called New Vista, are they any good? I also noticed you were doing a jewellery mystery shop. Was it a trial or a shop or something? I am signed up for a few places but haven't had any like that.
Sorry it's such a long post! Will keep reading your diary though I'm not sure I will get through all 7, might take me an age :rotfl:
Thanks

Hi Cakelover, nice to meet you - you may be waititng a wee while for your answers though as she's off quaffing vin and eating fromage
I've been toying with Amazon myself actually since we started the Challenge. I'm not one to get rid of book at all, but I've been thinking about selling a couple of recipe books which I've had for a while and never used - particularly cake books - I just have no need to try anything ther than the Hummingbird ones as they're so good. I remember Dinah saying a while back just to make sure yours is the cheapest and it will sell. This bodes well as the cookery books all seem to be around £7 rather than 1p. Anyone else got any experience of selling on Amazon?
Love the sound of your treasure hunt ArchersCan do the course on a Saturday morning I think but would rather take flexi and do it through the week than have it eat into my precious weekend! Wish I could pay the higher fee twice but only have to attend the course once - sadly I don't think it works like that.
Ah Wendz there's something romantic about using a launderette but it is time consuming. Would be very Eastenders of you!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Hi cakelover!
I have sold a few books/games etc on amazon and found it pretty good!
Washing machine man came and reckons it needs replacing so we wil see what landlord says about that. Launderette for me tomorrow then !0 -
Hey Tete, for Amazon just make sure you get an accurate quote for postage for your books - the postage is fixed by Amazon per item, but for Royal Mail heavier, bigger books (like cook books) cost a lot more. I lost money once or twice by not checking. You could try Royal Mail standard parcels service - it's quite cheap
Wendz, ohh hope the landlord sort out your machine asap! Hope the laundrette isn't too much of a pain.

I remember when OH was moving from one flat to another and was without a washing machine for a week or so as his ex-flatmate had taken it with him, he told me he'd taken his clothes to the launderette but it was the poshest version of a launderette I've ever seen, they did it all for him, even ironed and folded it carefully into his bags. I suppose that's what you get for living on a posh street in a posh town! Nothing like that near us now!
Ditto what Lara says about checking postage, it's normally fine for average sized books and games etc but one of the games I sold came in a bigish box with an extra gadget so the postage was a lot more than Amazon passed onto me, cut into my profit a bit! I miss the good old days when I could just sneak parcels onto the DHL table in the warehouse and pretend it was a shortage we had to send to a customer!
I've decided what we'll be doing tomorrow afternoon, if it's nice we'll head to Brimham Rocks for a picnic, might even bake some goodies to take with us tonight, if I can think of anything nice to make! Although OH has lost faith in my baking, the brownies I made the other night went wrong, not sure why or how, but they're just not very good. He declared last night that he is going to bake brownies this weekend to show me how it's done! I wonder if he'll actually do it?!
Nice to meet you Cakelover, great name, you'll fit in well on here!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
