Sorry you're so down Lara - I'm sure the dress will be fine on the day, don't fall out of love with it! x
Nooo, Tete! You're having a shocker of a weekOnly way is up! Hope you're feeling better.
Lara, there can't be much of you to shoehorn into your dressTry not to worry, they're not designed for you to get into on your own - definitely a combination of wrong angles and too-short arms in most cases! Hope you enjoy a bit of the build up, but as Dinah & Birdie say, as long as you enjoy having a hubby it's all AOK.
I'm still avoiding the wedding forums - everyone on 'my' month thread is basically sorted! What are they going to do for 9 months?! I'm quite enjoying the planning, but feel that I can take it at a leisurely pace and it will be fine! Ha ha, hope they're not famous last words :rotfl:LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Hi All,
Sorry I haven't been around too much.
Tete you are really not having a good week. For some reason I could smell the rozzers around yesterday and went slowly through a village to find them with their evil nasty van and the speed camera so avoided them.
Have hopefully got the flat let out in Scotland via a letting agency just waiting on the final bits going through. Means we can save again also I don't have to pay double council tax. Once I know the date the new tenant is moving in I can get the council tax sorted out and the electricity and gas bill.
Will need to borrow money from the ISA to pay the credit card which has the car insurance as didn't want to pay monthly anymore. Monthly was 24% interest while credit card was 11.9% plus if I clear most of it then I can get the rest just after the bill so a little bit of interest. They I can start putting the monthly money into the ISA I would have paid on the insurance - make sense?
Roll on Friday for payday but at the same time another £198 to my student loan.
Trying to avoid the cull at work, they are getting rid of 2000 people globally. Since it is a Canadian company most of the losses could be over there than here since we are still growing and making money.0 -
Jeez Tete, why is the universe doing this to you. You're a nice person dammit! Sounds like your bug is doing the rounds at my work, I'm washing my hands an extra zillion times a day to try keep it at bay.
Lara, congrats on getting down to 8 and a half stone. That's amazing and I'm sure once your dress is on it will look fabulous. So exciting how close it's getting.
I Bet it does feel strange once the manic wedding planning is over, but then you've got the rest of your lives to plan so I can't imagine complaining repeatedly about how you want to have your wedding day again. I can't wait to get some wedding invites! One boy (boy sounds weird if they're married!) from school got married last week and another will this week but I'm not close with either of them so haven't wangled an invite. I know one of them got together with his now wife on the exact day I got with my boyfriend and the idea of getting married now scares me! He is a jehovers witness though and they tend to marry fairly young.
Well done having no bank charges Dinah
Did you get married in Barcelona CMD?
Jeez Birdie I'd have kicked them back.... if I wasn't such a wimp! I am not enjoying the summer holidays, my nice quiet commuters only train has turned into the seaside shuttle train with kids everywhere all hyped up on ice cream. Shudder.
Saying that, swimming babies are more my type of child. Poppy sounds so cute Wendz!
Shrimpy, go see bridesmaids - it's awesome! I've started avoiding orange wednesdays at my cinema as it's always full of people who aren't really arsed but go as it's cheap and they're bored, and then end up talking all the way through the film grrrr. You're right, entry should be limited!
Ooh Poolie, good news about the flat. Fingers crossed about work, sounds like you're in an alright position?
Hope I've not forgotten anyway, I've tried really hard!

Hi Archers - yes I did get married in Barcelona. Nearly 5 years ago and it feels as though it were yesterday!
Poolie - glad you have found someone for the flat. I didn't think you had a to pay council tax if a place was empty?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Thanks for the warm words you guys. I tried the dress on again today and without a bra it seems to be fitting okay. The plastic bones on the sides of the dress are bent, which is what is causing the weird bulges under the armpits. They are stitch on ones so I am going to remove them and see how it looks. Jeez it's so tight I don't have to worry about it staying on!! There's a big crazy strap in the middle of the dress to keep it on which is very uncomfortable... reckon I don't need that either so I'll just leave it undone. Hopefully that will sort everything out. However I managed to make the top of the zip area a bit grubby trying to get into on my own this arvo, and have loosened another button argh!
Think I'm just a bit down about it all. My Mum is really negative and my bridesmaids aren't around to talk to about wedding stuff. One is finishing her phd next week and the other is making hats for an exhibition next week. So there's nobody to get excited with. OH is a bit distant, think he is nervous too. He's not too into table centrepiece chat
Can I share them here? Here's some pics... Half will be book stacks and half vintage typewriters. Got a selection from ebay from 30s right up to an orange 70s retro one. Then there will be some small candles and a little spray of flowers in Victorian ink bottles
And this is our venue -:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Ahh Lara I LOVE your centrepieces - so inkeeping with the venue too - are you going to type messages on paper in the typewriters? Or leave paper for guests to type messages for you?
All is not lost with the dress. Definitely remove the boning that should make a big difference. I bought a TK Maxx dress for my uni ball because it was cheap even though it was a bit tight - I removed the bones and snipped the seams of the lining and it fit much better. (Is massive on me now though - all that uni beer obviously!) Is there any lining you could maybe snip at? I wish you lived closer and I'd pop over!
Thanks all for you non-judgement of my second speeding ticket, I haven't told anyone in real life about the second oneI'll be so ashamed if I have to get 6 points on my licence! You're right Poddle the only way is up - hopefully the three bad things are the two tickets and the bug and there's nothing more heading my way! :rotfl: at Poolie's Spidey Senses!

Oooh I love the centerpieces Lara, really inspired!
Like CMD said, share away! We all love a bit of pretty wedding talk! And looking at the sneak peeks if your wedding pictures don't make it onto Rock and Roll Bride I'll be surprised!
Get those pesky bones removed and see what happens. I hate it when they bend. The ones in my wedding dress bent a bit and it felt really odd, wish I could have just taken them out!
Tete, of course we're not going to judge you! I'm just shocked that such bad luck has befallen you. My 3 points have just come off my license and I hated having them hanging round my neck, it didn't affect my insurance though -speeding on a motorway if that makes any difference. Well, the points will be taken off properly when I send it away to change my name! Any ideas how long it'll take to do that? Want to take my license away with me as ID so don't want to send it off if I'm not going to get it back quickly. Also, do they need the original wedding certificate or will a copy do?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Morning all. Poor Max is in bits with his teeth. He is drooling the whole time and he isn't a drooler. 2 of the back teeth are through, so it must be the other 2 that are trying to break through.
Wendz- glad Poppy liked the pool. Max looked at me strangely when I first dunked him too!
How are you feeling Tete? It's defo not your week.
I can't figure out how to change my ticker. When you update them Dinah could you knock another £47 off mine please.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

To change your ticker just click on it on the first page, and enter the pin you set when you made it. If you forget you can get it reset.
Opened an ISA this morning, I figure we might as well put all our overpayments in there rather than directly onto the card, a little bit of interest along the way will help us, and we always have the option of dipping into it for car insurance when the time comes (or major repairs to the car if needed).
NIMs wages will go in tomorrow, which is great as I can finish sorting out this months budgets and moving money about before we go away. It looks like they'll be higher than expected, which means more money into the ISA/more money for the challenge as we'll be making an overpayment usually we'd just gobble up (although we've spent so much the last few days on bits for the holiday, servicing the car and the washing machine etc and I've started to count the OD debt, I think my sig is going to go way up before it comes down).
Didn't get home until nearly 10 last night so nothing else has come off the to do list, about to go and find it and see what NEEDS doing still and what is just nice to get done.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
