  • Morning all! Sorry I haven't been on much. Evie has been taking up all of time as I am breastfeeding this time around and hard to type one handed! She latched on straight away and it is so natural. I am so glad I stopped with Max when I did though as I can see how 'forced' it was with him and his little cheeks must have been so sore from the forceps delivery.

Anyway - all going very well this end, she is beautiful and Max doesn't seem to mind her at all, although Nanna is giving him lots of attention. We are moving back quicker than expected (7th Oct) due to various reasons and OH's hours kick in at the end of Nov but he will be coming home every weekend until then.

Wendz - if you are only getting £170 after childcare etc every month I would maybe sit down and write the pros and cons. I went back to work when Max was 1 and did a 3 day week. After childcare costs and childcare vouchers etc I was coming out with £500 a month. I think if it had been anything less than £300 I would have just stayed at home. It all depends on how much you like your job, how much you feelyou need to work etc. I haven't decided what I want to do this time around. I will stay off until Evie is at least 1 and then decide. If I go back I would ideally like to do 2 days a week and 3 at the most.

Dinah - I thought you said that you wanted to be a stay at home mum a while ago. Is that not feasible for when your business takes off?

Flower - how are you feeling? Not long to go!

Birdie - are you getting excited about your honeymoon? Is the weather nice there now?

Starnac - sounds like you have lots of aims/plans for Oct!

Poddle - glad you had a lovely holiday!

Sorry if I have left anyone out, brain is a bit muddled at the moment!

Super exciting Birdie! You will definitely wear it better ;) I bet you can't sit still!

Forgot the diary again today, have resorted to covering the inside of my purse with post its instead!

Oooh Good luck Ruby! Is your test booked yet? Are you confident? Lack of self belief is pretty much my downfall unfortunately! We can do it!

  • Oh and Birdie, I know that girl from the Disney forum! She always went on and on about getting married at Disney, since our dance teacher had her honeymoon there when we were like 8! I bet you'll pull the outfit off better than her though!

And glad everything is ok with Evie CMD.

  • Shrimpy - booked my 3rd attempt for 25th October fingers crossed!

CMD - Lessons are fine, you need to find a patient instructor that you can chat to because you'll be spending a lot of time together! It's just the tests are a pain.

  • To be honest CMD, I hate driving so am probably the wrong person to ask! I would say the main thing is to ask around lots before choosing an instructor and go on recommendation. If you are unhappy then switch, but best if you can get a good one first time around as switching obviously is disruptive. My first instructor was independent and, although a lovely guy, just didn't push me at all and I didn't really get anywhere (except poorer). My second was through the AA and was great, really patient but also very focused on getting me to test standard asap. Sadly I changed jobs and couldn't fit lessons in with him anymore as he was part time. My most recent was AA again but I find him so super critical, he just reduces me to a bag of nerves. If I hadn't chopped and changed so much in the past, I would have asked to change him immediately. Nothing against him personally but he made me feel so stupid :( Eventually my OH talked sense into me and made me see that I was never going to pass like that.

Sorry, mega long response there! Also getting lots of practice between lessons will be a massive help if possible (so I'm told! :p)

No way! What a small world! :pThis wedding looked amazing because they were actually at Disney and had Mickey in a tux for the photos! Cool beans! Makes me want to get married again! :o

Nice to hear from you CMD and I'm glad Evie's doing well and you're managing to feed her. :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • Wow, Dinah - love your diaries. It's going to take some time to get through them, but I'll read a little bit every day. Very inspiriational!!

I've just posted my first diary and am hoping to add something every day. Need to keep motivated.

    All the best

If you were down Limerick way I'd give you my guys number as he was fantastic.

Remember driving back home is a whole different kettle of fish to driving over here CMD. I've had to completely change the way I drive here compared to Ireland. ;) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.
