Yey! Heard off my cousin - flat in Greenwich for the weekend all sorted. Now I just need to decide where in London (cheap or free) to take NIM. Any suggestions anyone? Given he hasn't been before there are plenty of options (shh, thinking of taking him to the Hummingbird bakery, see how my cakes shape up to the real thing!).

Well a lot of the Museum's are free - So maybe the Natural History Museum or the Science Museum.

Personally one of my Favourite things to do is to get the Tube to the O2 and catch one of the Thames Clippers (get the one WITHOUT the commentary as those are really expensive, the ones without should cost about a fiver each). Go down to London Bridge, get off and walk right down the Southbank all the way to Westminster...and then wander up across the Bridge and up to Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square for a wander around Soho (not always as dodgy as it sounds!! LoL) and also a wander around Chinatown and you could even go down into Covent Garden...

All of that depends on whether it's a nice day or not though!! The walk down the Southbank should take no more than about an hour and a half...

Also, if you have a spare £20 then go and have a Burger and Chips at Ed's Diner...a fabulous American-Style Diner - There are two, one just off Leicester Square and one in Soho.

Hope that gives you some Idea's....As much fun as they are I'd avoid places like Madame Tussauds, the London Dundgeon and places like that as they are hideously expensive to get in...

That's good news, saves you having to look for somewhere to stay. My sister lives in Greenwich.

How long are you there for? How about the free museums , national history, science museum or go to places like buckingham palace, trfalgar square. Covent garden is nice to visit.

We are going into London tomorrow as my mum is coming up and we are meeting up with my sis. Not sure what we are doing but have decided to take Poppy in baby carrier to save battling through crowds with buggy.

We arrive at about 10am Saturday, but then want to get to the flat to drop off the cases, and then we'll be good to go. Heading up to Heathrow Sunday evening as we have a £10 travelodge booked and it will be handy to be nearer the airport for Monday morning. Thanks for the suggestions ladies.

As you'll be in Greenwich, I would suggest a wander around Greenwich market and park on Sunday morning. The market is full of lots of amazing little crafty stalls that are just nice to look at (and no pressure to buy anything) and the park is beautiful when it isn't raining! I'd second Covent Garden, and if you're around the Hummingbird Bakery (and your not a vegetarian) you should check out Bodeans which is an American BBQ restaurant (to get you in the mood!) and the food is cheap, amazing and the portions are huge! Or there is the My Old Dutch pancake house on Holborn with the biggest selection of fruit beers I've ever seen. Will get back to you if I think of anything else!

Lots of lovely chat on here this morning.

Sorry to hear about your day Birdie. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare. Hope it goes better today.

Glad you heard back from your cousin Dinah. I know it is expensive but the London Eye is great. I also love walking around Soho and having a beer in the pubs (when I am not pregnant!) or browsing in the shops! I love waking around the Borough Market too :)

Good idea to save up the vouchers Wendz. I have my eye on a changing bag on Amazon and hope to get a voucher from Valued Opinions soon to get £10 off it. I already have a changing bag so it doesn't need to be bought before the baby arrives. It is just a bit pulled and dragged from extensive use with Max!

I kicked off my Xmas shopping yesterday and bought my neice a personalised dressing gown from here:

    www.stitchcraft.ie

I got the 18-24 month dressing gown because she will get more use out of it then! I had a 15% off voucher for it too. My aim is to get all my Xmas presents without having to pay full price. When I get paid this week I am going to spend £50 in the Early Learning Centre as I have a 20% off voucher & delivery is free for orders over £50. That should sort out a lot of my neices/nephews presents!

Lol! I know Flower but I need to get organised or we will have a big bill in December. Also, as I am planning to move back to Ireland in December I will be busy enough without running around for last minute presents.

Plus I love a good list and ticking things off!
