Hi all! Been on a course today in Leeds so missed my MSE catch-up! Been a bleeding awful day, had to drive the rubbish rental car (Astra, really awful car!), got lost trying to find an invisible car park, finally got parked then wandered around lost for 20 minutes trying to find the offices, got there late, the course leader guy is rubbish and is going through everything so quickly I might as well have just stayed home and read a book, got lost again trying to get back to the car, ended up in a Starbucks close to tears ordering a frappucino to cheer myself up whilst begging for directions and trying not to sob because my feet were so tired! Then of course to top it off I had to miss my turning onto the M1 so had a nice scenic tour to get there, I was so happy to finally get on that road home! And I've got to do it all again tomorrow and Wednesday! And I've got homework!
Really like the living room pictures Cinny, love the rug and the red bus cushion!Kitchen quote sounds good too
We watched The Inbetweeners on Saturday, it was pretty good, lots of laughs and cringey moments! We also treated ourselves to dinner as I have my Tastecard so we could get 50% off, going to commplain though as we were treated like 2nd class citizens being shoved in a far corner, being glared at by the staff and when the bill came they hadn't even taken the discount off so I had to go chase it up and was told by a smarmy waiter that 'We don't accept those cards on Saturdays'... hmm, that's interesting considering I rang twice to confirm that it only applied to Saturday evenings and we were there before it was technically classed as evening so I wanted my 50% off! Grrr.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Aw Birdie, sounds like you've had a shocker of a day! You definitely deserved to treat yourself in Starbucks (and you should again tomorrow, even if you don't get lost!) but I hope you're going to put it on expenses
Homework too?! At least it's only 3 daysThey're making you work for your payrise aren't they?!
We're trying to book a last minute holiday and Crete looks like a good option - though it's where the Inbetweeners film was filmed  I think it's like most 'party' islands in that you can avoid the 18-30 boozed up crowds!
Glad you had a nice day out Wendz, the weather here looks like it's on the turn - typical, just in time for the bank holiday!
Cinny, your living room is really sweet - love the patriotic vibeLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Very nice 'after' pics Cinny
Totally cool. Wendz I do remember your flat was bright orange! How funny. I don't think I could have lived with that either, although today I ordered bright orange towels off Tesco
Birdie sorry to hear about your day - hope you've got your feet up with a nice glass of wineAm just chilling with some wine, but got to keep on tidying the house this evening, it's a vile pit :rotfl: Okay not that bad, but stuff is everywhere, and what's worse is that it's all mine!
I haven't been watching Inbetweeners, but the clips on TV looked quite funny. Poddle I hope you get your hols sorted. Our honeymoon is still not booked but OH is doing the legwork now as he has refused my suggestion of a cut price deal to Sri Lanka and Dubai. I hope we will get to go somewhere!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Morning all,
Birdie - i did wonder where you were yesterday. Sounds like a horrible day, hope today is better for you!
Poddle - I went to Crete and did stay in the Malia part when the Inbetweeners is filmed haha. It is a really nice island though and if you stay somewhere else (not malia) i am sure it would be lovely. We wandered into the old town bit in Malia away from where all the clubs and bars are and found some really nice little restaurants and things.
Need to go into town today to take back my library books which are overdue eek. Looks like it is going to be heavy rain this morning so might wait till later.0 -
Short day for me today as NIM needs the car, should be home by 3.30 rather than the usual 7pm, so hoping I can get the bedroom tidy and sort out our itinerary for New York. Getting a bit stressed about getting everything done in time, and that's ignoring the fact we still haven't heard off my cousin so don't yet know if we have somewhere to stay in London. VERY excited though. If I get the itinerary sorted tonight I can do the restaurant bookings tomorrow night, which is a bit of a decadent activity for me - spending an evening looking at menus and picking 6 places to eat.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hope you manage to get hold of your cousin.
What are you planning on doing in new york? I would love to go again.0 -
love the patriotic vibe
I love it too! It kind of just happened. I wanted something for the Royal Wedding so we got that cushion, then a week ago I saw the London Bus one and thought it was sweet. And the flag rug was the only rug we both agreed on. The bus cushion is from Primark btw Birdie, I think it was either £3.50 or £4.50.
Good on you for fighting for your discount Birdie, it's annoying when places are like that. Hope they actually make some changes when you complain, that's not right at all. Sorry yesterday was such a nightmareHopefully today will be better for you, it is crazy you have homework!
Hope you get your holidays sorted Poddle and Lara. It's kind of stressful trying to find and book it, I'm sure it'll all fall into place
Can believe New York has come around so quickly! Good luck with all the planning and booking ect ect. Weird you still haven't heard anything from your cousin, I bet it'll be the typical thing that as soon as you go ahead and book a hotel instead she'll get in touch!0 -
I'll post our list tonight Wendz
Initially NIM didn't trust any of my decorating so I was 'given' the guest room to do with as I liked. Since then he's come around and complimented me that he underestimated me and I do get what things will look like and I've done a good job so he's a lot more trusting of me to just do it and he knows I won't do something OTT he'll hate. A few of our rooms atm are plain white, which keeps it clean and fresh and was cheap to do, but I might be calling for some colour in a few years time.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
