Working those guns!! I read on of the best things you can do exercise wise cleaning the house is scrubbing the floors and it's meant to firm your upper arms. I do that all the time, but my arms are just fleshy!!
I'm glad you're not doing any crazy diets though, I used to worry about you whenever you took up a new one!0 -
I worry about you too love, I know from past experience 1200 is not a lot and long term it often made me dizzy, a bit obsessive after a while, and borderline anemic (sp?). But I had a bit of an eating disorder as a teen and I guess I probably have a pretty poor relationship with food and my body.
Feeling grouchy today. I'm very cold, it's TOTM and I have bad cramps and want to be curled up with a hot water bottle, and some bloke keeps ringing me to ask very, very technical 'hypothetical' questions about a wind farm I know nothing about. On the plus side work gave me new work boots as my old ones are a size 5 (I'm a 7). These ones proudly state they are heat resistant to 300C for 30mins.... shame the rest of me isn't really.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Good tip on the kitchen Dinah, we were looking at changing our Ikea doors, and the glossy ones look so pretty. But we are of the opinion that the less cleaning the better! I wonder if matt ones are the same - or if it's just better to have wood? We've got wood and I don't like it for some reason. I just love colours. We were hoping to rent out our house over the Olympics for loads of cash and then use that for new kitchen doors and worktops, as we only live about 10mins walk to the Olympic site and we didn't get any tickets of our own
But not sure about that just yet.
Oooooh CMD, you are a real celebrity!! Imagine being in the MSE newsletter, hehe.
Well after the tyranny of slimming into the wedding dress I'm here eating Galaxy minstrelsBetter not do that for too long! I found my IBS was almost non-existent when I was doing regular exercise, eating smaller portions of not so carby stuff and cutting out onions and garlic. Have a good day, ladies. I hope Tete is having a nice holiday

Does CMD know her dilemma's been used?!
Funny you should be talking about cutting down the calories (not too much though!), I've just been hunting out some veggie meal ideas and surprisingly the Morrison's website has some pretty good recipes on there. I want to cut down on how much meat I eat as a) I don't need it and b) I want to save money! We get paid on Friday so Saturday is Big Shop Day and we really need to stock up, it's like Mother Hubbard's in our flat! I really need to drop a [STRIKE]few[/STRIKE] several pounds so I'm hoping that a little more sensible meal planning will help!
Lara, what a good idea about renting your house out for the Olympics!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Ohh i haven't seen this, can't find the newsletter now. Found it now!!
You deserve the minstrels after all the wedding stress Lara.0 -
Don't worry about me. I'm actually eating around 1500+ a day, but minus exercise I fall at 1200. But with making better choices with what I eat, cutting out on junk and empty calories I feel like I'm eating way more than I was before I changed everything up. I get what you mean though, I had problems with eating disorders when I was younger too. Although mine was mainly BED and the odd bouts of purging. It's hard not to fall back into those ways, that's kind of why I've opted for the healthy style over diets, I know full well on a diet I'll end up cracking and then back to binging and purging. It's horrible.
Hope you're feeling better soon. Whenever I feel like that at work I grab a coffee and attempt to curl up a little on my office chair with my legs underneath me. But then I do work in an very relaxed place! The other office girl has been known to come in in her jammie bottoms and slippers when it's shark week. Bless her!
ETA:I wonder if matt ones are the same - or if it's just better to have wood?
I have white wooden doors atm and they're easy peasy to keep clean - I wipe them down about twice a week and steam them every fortnight. (Not that they really need it!) My parents have matt wood ones which always look totally clean despite them having 5 dogs running around and 1 pug who likes to cannon ball himself at them when there's food around. I think my Mum only quickly wipes them once a week?
I'm on myfitnesspal if anyone wants to join up on there! It's like foodfocus, only better. You can add people as friends ect and cheer them on a littleI only have 2 people on there mind, and one's my Mum who gave up on it after a day :rotfl:
And eat the chocolate, Lara0 -
Dear me, eating disorders do not sound good girls, glad you've kicked them and you're being sensible towards your food now. I know what you mean about eating more when you're being healthy though, it's a bit odd isn't it? It's good though as you're never so hungry you end up demolishing a pack of biscuits! I really wish I could get out of bed earlier on a morning, the best breakfast for me is scrambled eggs as it keeps me going all morning but I barely have time for some (brown) toast nowadays and end up having a cereal bar at 10am!

Ah thats okay if you're eating a bit more an exercising it off, you'll still be getting the vitamins and minerals your body needs not to get all sorry for itself and go all Jane Austen heroine with a hanky to your chest and the smelling salts out.
I can't drink coffeeUsually this would be call for a hot chocolate but I do't have a mug at work atm! So I have a bottle of water, wild child that I am. Did 'treat' myself in Asda this morning when I was getting NIMs work coffee to 5 little bags of fruit for £1.50 (and threw in a bag of blueberries too). I actually think that's pretty good value at 30p a bag just so I know I have somthing to much on - one bag has 3 pineapple fingers in and a whole pineapple is £2 so I think it's actually cheaper to get it pre-prepared.

Woops. It's what I call TOTM! I've also been known to call it 'Overlook Season'
Sometimes I start to understand why OH says I have no shame.
Ahh, I couldn't do that though Birdie! I feel so bad when I skip breakfast it isn't worth the extra minutes in bed. I just tend to have strawberries, peaches, natural yoghurt and a big mug of green tea now though so it doesn't take much prep! Had honey porridge for a change this morning, om nom nom.
It is weird how you feel like you're eating more, I'm going for the 8 glasses of water a day too so it feel like if I'm not eating, I'm drinking!0 -
Oh Cinny, we only clean our cupboard doors about twice or three times a year!! :rotfl: At least I admitted earlier that cleaning is not our strong point
Still in my defence I was away for like a third of the year last year, hehe. Spent last week decluttering - the inside of the wardrobe is looking great. I also cleared out the dreaded bathroom cabinet. How does all that weird stuff get in there?
Must check out myfitnesspal, I have been doing quite well on my day zero goal of swimming twice a week. Managed to get up to about 89 tasks now
*Shares out the virtual minstrels* At least those virtual ones don't have any calories!!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0
