Yeah, that's the general consensus on the winter thread I was reading. I have no idea how it's going to get worse than it was last year though! I was so thoroughly sick of the sight of snow by the end of it, every day I looked out the window with a feeling a dread! At least it should be a bit better for me getting to work this year, I can just walk/trudge through snow drifts/slip on sheet ice to work. We want His & Hers Hunter wellies and Barbour jackets this winter!
As long as the snow doesn't come until mid-December I'll be happy(er). My brother's wedding is on the 1st December out in the middle of nowhere and if it snows it could be a disaster. We've booked to stay the night before just to make sure we're definitely there the day of the wedding!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Surely such warm and socially conscious(sp?) companies wouldnt do such a thing to us.
I know its really not the sort of behaviour you expect is it :rotfl: made me smile to myself when I logged into our Eon account just after they announced the increase in prices. They had put a big announcement up and wanted to 'explain' to their customers why they had done it and it wasnt an easy decision to make. No of course it wasnt!! Bet it kept you awake for nights worrying about it!

It is helping me be organised as when i look at all the cleaningto be done it looks a bit overwhelming and i don't do any. Only doing one room a day helps a lot.
I can see this winter being expensive with being in the flat most the time.
NIM - you turn 25 just before me, I am end of Oct!
Found out yesterday my friend who is due her second in Jan is having another boy. Poppy will have her pick of the boys now.0 -
Well Flower your instinct could be right, I kept saying i would have her on the 18th as my horoscope said something about the 18th and i did actually go into labour on the 18th even though she arrived on the 19th.0

You're just eager to meet him Flower.
I love snow, provided I don't have to go out in it. It's pretty to look at though. I bet your brother and missus are hoping it does snow Birdie - in December if its not raining its snowing and one produces much better photos than the other.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think they'd soon change their minds about the snow once they realise that the guests can't get there and her Dad has to drive everyone over in the tractor! :rotfl:
Stupid work have messed up my pay, I'm not supposed to be getting the annual 1.5% pay rise this month but my £1500 pay rise is going through next month, I checked my pay slip today and they've given me the annual rise. How difficult is it to get it right?! Not sure what they're going to do next month, whether they'll just bump it up again to what it should be and allow me to keep the extra few quid this month (unlikely) or take it off and put my correct pay rise through and take this month's little bit extra off me in my next pay slip so I don't really see the difference until October. Grrr. I was looking forward to my September pay!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I hate it when that happens as you have the money but can't really spend it.
Just went to baby group and Poppy held a boys hand haha, was so cute.0 -
Hey Dinah & NIM - nice to have you back. Good to hear you enjoyed your holiday.
A week off work and I walked to the sorting office this morning then went to get something off the top of the fridge and get the feeling I have pulled my back again. Wonder if a swim will help it tonight mmmm? Worst case there are co-codamol in the house.
