Should be a light for....

Why? Are you completely incapable of noticing you're getting closer? Its not exactly going to be slowing in a hurry.0

Dear Wig,
I'm sorry, but we have chosen not to implement your suggestion.
Don't be upset. We look forward to hearing your future ideas.
Kind Regards,
Everyone0 -
Because it allows the car behind to know that you are intentionally rolling (and will be slowing down gradually) and they can then either roll themselves or prepare to overtake. Rather than them getting upset at your car going slower and slower and them not knowing why it's happening or not expecting it to carry on getting slower. If they see the light they KNOW it will get slower and slower whilst the light stays on.
I think it would benefit the driver behind.0 -

Crazy idea... which would either cause confusion or people just wouldn't pay any attention to it!
Some cars flash their brakelights rapidly under heavy braking. I've seen that several times and that's a good idea. Make that standard!0 -
What if your car can do 30mph at tickover without needing any throttle input?
Since the remap i can almost pull away with no throttle whilst towing a caravan.
Helped increase the torque at tickover, Very impressed.
Why would you not notice your getting closer and decide whether to overtake or not. Maybe the driver
is slowing down because they can see a hazard ahead. But unlike some people do not need to do an ABS
assisted emergency stop 3 feet away from it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
What really p***es me off is when I'm going down a long steep NSL bank not too far away, and the person in front brakes instead of just lifting their foot off the go pedal. Absolutely no need to brake as the bank climbs again at the other end.0

Just like when a person uses an indicator, we KNOW they are going to turn? Of course not... we should never rely on lights alone. Especially ones put on by a computer automatically without the driver even knowing. As soon as they assume it's safe to overtake the car could speed up.
If the car sped up they would immediately see the light switching off. Who said anything about relying on lights alone? This system would be unlikely to give false readings, but it would provide IMO a valuable bit of information to those like Strider who like to make progress.0 -
is it me or are people not tought to read the road and whats ahead and hazard perception these days? or is do people forget and now we have to rely on computers and lights take the new ford, helps you park, reads the roads and car ahead and brakes for you if one suddenly stopped, in my opinion manufacturers should STOP doing that as too many people will become reliant on a computer and too comfortable behind the wheel. what happens when these things go faulty, like the park assist, smash you hit a car, what happens when the computer suddenly thinks theres a car ahead suddenly braking on motorway you all get whiplash and wham someone rear ends you.
i'm not a fan of manufacturers taking away what should be a drivers learnt skill.
all i can suggest wig is that you have more perception of hazards and read whats going on around you and give plenty of time to react to any changes.0 -
I think the best idea is for all cars to be fitted with a big hydraulic spike in the drivers seat that can be operated only by drivers of other cars around it.
Then we would see a bit more consideration for others
of course it would not need to be fitted in my car0
