I agree the site seems to over-estimate a little on the number of glasses you may want to drink but that site you quote is just a Canadian news site, and the article from 2003?

I know from experience that when I remember to drink more water I feel better for it.

if you want to know how much toxic we accumulated over the years inside our intestine, book a few colon irrigation sessions and you will see with your own eyes. i was told that all the yeast and toxic in the intestine may turn into cancer at later stage, so the best thing to maintain a healthy colon is to drink enough water everyday, but not too much to damage the liver.

mom had kidney stones before and was told by doctor because she was not drinking enough water and did not eat at regular times, wonder what has it to do with eating at regular times, but anyway, food and drink always on top of my list, no problem with that :)

i was just talking today about people who are 'obsessed' with drinking water... a lot of people die from drinking too much water.
take a look at below webpage if u are interested in the subject

The last paragraph made good sense:

'The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day! You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake. You may need more water if the weather is very warm or very dry, if you are exercising, or if you are taking certain medications. The bottom line is this: it's possible to drink too much water, but unless you are running a marathon or an infant, water intoxication is a very uncommon condition.'

That's why the reminder is a good idea, it reminds you to drink little and often rather than downing a lot in one go because you've forgotten. :)

Divide pounds by 2.2 to get kilograms.

    ie. 130 pounds divided by 2.2 = 59.1 kilograms.
    150 pounds divided by 2.2 = 68.2 kilograms.
    170 pounds divided by 2.2 = 72.3 kilograms.

It's off topic but here is a neat trick for doing conversions. Go to Google, type in the following and press search:

11 stone 6 pounds in kgs

It will convert it for you. Works for pretty much any conversion you can think of.
