But what is it like? If my local store start stocking this Pampeano brand, instead of Hunters, do I buy it or leave well alone?! And is that £1.39 as well?
Yes, £1.39 as well. It'll probably be a while before I get round to trying it though.

(I see also that Tesco have the same brand on their website at £1.99)

  • I bought the Pampaeno and it is lovely! - hardly any fat on the outside when you open the tin and no gristle or fat in the meat either.

Yes we definitely need corned beef to go in our stovies for the winter.

We haven't made stovies for so long. Must suggest it to the Mem Sahib today. *slaver*

The John West brand that Home Bargains stock has now shot up to £1.89! (Incidentally, their Princes Tuna (4 pack) has now gone up too - I think it was £2.79 - it was £2.39 for a long time)

It was 'on offer' at the Lidl in Glenrothes at £1.39, the same price that it has been for a couple of months so that must mean that the price is going up as soon as the 'offer' ends.

It was only December last year I was getting the same brand for £1.09 in the same shop.
