my son bought some Tesco Finest frying steak the other day (in the reduced section) and it was only 50p dearer than a pack of sliced corned beef! Shocking.
Something wrong there really - he's gainfully unemployed and can afford steak for lunch........ I'm obviously not charging him enough board money :mad:0 -
I was in Morrisons today and saw corned beef in a round tin. Don't know the price, size or make as I was too shocked to notice.
I couldn't believe it, corned beef in a round tin, what is the world coming to!0 -

There hasn't been any in my local branch for weeks but last week it was back on the shelf - at £1.39! Grabbed a few tins whilst they had it - it's the same brand as they used to stock (Hunters) so I know it's ok. I noticed today they still had a good stock of it so hopefully it's back for good this time!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
smart price was £1.39 last week, my god i remember when it was 57p... its definately a delicacy in my house now, which is a shame as my kids loved corned beef casserole and corned beef pie.0

FWIW the can I bought in Aldi the other day was not their usual Hunters brand (which I've had previously), but a brand called Pampeano.
But what is it like? If my local store start stocking this Pampeano brand, instead of Hunters, do I buy it or leave well alone?! And is that £1.39 as well?"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
