Corned Beef

Options
Has anyone noticed that the price of corned beef has just about doubled in the last few weeks? I used to buy Sainsburys premium which was £150 then went up to £1.79 and now is not on the shelves, nor has been for ages. Other brands are at least £2.60 - it is the same with tinned tuna too....

I think corned beef is so ridiculously expensive. So much so that it is now a 'luxury' for me to have it in my sandwiches. Waitrose premium ham is cheaper than corned beef.

There have been other threads about this but, yes, corned beef is now at silly prices.

Is it the actual Corned Beef (tins) that's going up in price, or is it the price of the keys?? :D

Never in my life could I get one of those keys to work... always ended up taking a tin-opener to the bottom of the can. :D

I've almost always bought both these items at Netto. Thankfully I have quite a few tins of each.:j

The way prices are rising is frightening.

My Dad swears by Sainsbury's Basics corned beef. He says it is great value, really meaty with hardly any fat.

It's so frustrating that even corned beef hash isn't such a cheap meal anymore!

I don't bother with the key either.

Ouch! Just thinking of the number of times I used to cut my finger on a corned beef tin.

    :(

Wasn't a sight for the squeamish.

    :D
