Mis-informed by C.S. Tesco DTD not ending

Thats as maybe - but Tesco are wonderful at NOT doing it right! Also, although somebody instore might well know that DTD was stopping, but I am far from convinced that the knowledge would be passed on. As late as an hour before coupon usage was severely curtailed on Black Friday, check out staff in my local were assuring me that there was no problem at all and I could certainly continue using a load of coupons for the foreseable future ( I suppose it depends on your definition of 'foreseable but I would certainly expect it to be longer than an hour!).
That piece of information came down the day before. It was just not allowed to be discussed so that it didn't get out on certain websites. :rotfl:If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
R&R at waitrose. Is this written down in their policy anywhere, or on a sign in store ?
not that I know of, it just seems to be the way their tills work. Sometimes I get money off the rest of my shopping. Awhile back they had an offer on wild salmon steaks 2 for 1 at £6.99. They were marked down to 2.49 so I had 4 packs for free and £4.02 off my shopping.
Every so often they clear end of lines and I hit lucky and stock up as with the toothpaste. I now have enough for 3yrs !!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
we had a manager refuse dtd before and argue that its finished when the sign was still up behind her but she was having none of it, my friend rang cs the next day they said thats totally wrong and to go back for dtd and she got a £5 giftcard for her petrol too!
they make up their own rules i guess thinking we will believe them and walk away quietly and not mention or try it again and think they will win but it doesnt work!!!Take care of the pence and the pounds will take care of themselves

Wouldn't the OP have been better confirming this with some corroborating support either email or tel call to HO?
Not sure i would have posted a grabbit based on a potential tescoism
Seversl times i have gone in for an instore DTD the trouts try to convince me it is has ceased to be policy
I wonder if they are just dumb, ignorant or very naive or actually even trained to employ this line to 'scare' us off from trying for DTD again and thereby potentially saving the store moneyGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

On a slightly difference tack I recently returned an item for £3 which was faulty and asked for my money back, they DEMANDED my clubcard, which they never usually bother with & the other day I returned something else not fit for its purpose for just only £1 and again they DEMANDED my clubcard.
Flippin' 'eck I could have understood if it had been an expensive item, is this a new policy ?0 -
Co-op do that on reduced multibuy stuff too I bought reduced pizzas the other day on bogof and the bogof still kicked in

Just say you've forgotten it
Surely if an item is faulty they are not allowed to refuse a refund just because you haven't got your CCGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

Tescos have dubious policies and ethics. One of the few companies who did not pull NOTW advertising, chipping away at its clubcard scheme, worrying fish and over fishing of farmers, .... I reckon after next year when my clubcard points have been fully exploited I will try to shop local/markets/sainsburys. Tired of Tesco and its all conquering policies............... Have you ever wondered what

I don't know how new it is, but yes, it is policy. If a clubcard is showing on the receipt, then if you return the item they ask for the clubcard back to remove the points you were given.
Maybe annoying for small items & genuine cases, but if they didn't do this then there would be nothing to stop some people continually buying items simply to return them but retain points & build up a massive balance.
Must say by the way, at my Tesco's nothing is ever mentionned about dtd, but dtd is automatically given, so it's obviously not all stores...some follow company policy quite well.0
