I checked at work today and the store manager, large Extra, knows nothing about it ending so I would happily say it is not true.

Apart from the fact that a few managers seem to get a kick out of telling porky pies, Tesco are not well known for actually cascading important info down their staff hierarchy so NOTHING would surprise me about the withdrawal or otherwise of DTD on overcharges.

Tesco do seem to have appalling staff training - I'm guessing the Store Mgrs are somehow assessed on DTDs paid in a period as a % of sales, so instruct the dollies on the CS till to make it difficult, ie subvert the policy that Tesco Marketing Dept has instructed.

Only a very crap Central Tesco Mgt would allow this to continue.

If you've got a policy, make it work, crush & destroy any Store Mgr who subverts it.

the head office must be making it so hard for customers as you now go through to a call centre and not direct to store when you ring them
i brought 2 dove deoderants the other day and there was defo a bogof obn them but i was thrown from pillar to post and gave up in then end
  • Hi Every one,

I don't want to be a lurker any more, But I am finding it very hard not to be one

I don't have much to add but I am happy to check out local Tesco's for deals :j around the Newport/Risca/Caerphilly and St mellons area.

I did purchase some lucozade sport orange body fuel earlier, Sel said £14 something and I was charged £18.99 not been to CS yet but will report back tomorrow.

ASDA as already mentioned earlier refunds the overcharge and gives a £2 gift card, Waitrose always give me a full refund of the amount paid and I get to keep the item. Both stores have always been appologetic and v helpful. the trouts at T's could learn a thing or two.

Another tip for W'rose they still give the multi buy discount on reduced items. Got 6 toothpastes yesterday original cost £3.19 each total paid for 6 was 16p.
Made up for all the offers I've missed at T's

Thanks for tip add that to my mental list., none near me but will try and remember when im away

it worked for me for the 1st time in tesco last week for a long time didnt notice at the time as i may have used a voucher or 2 in the transation as well hummm
anyhow perhaps thinking about it, it was not their normal 3 for 2 or buy 2 for x ect. it was on was on Fresh meat, and the original offer was£4 each or 3 for 10 / 4 for 12, a dual offer, which may be the key to it working did not notice this as was covered by the reduced ticket, i has purchased 3 items reduced to £1 , wheni looked at recepit later it has taken off £2,
I had only by chance taken the last 3

not sure if would have worked on 4 or not but keep an eye out, it certainly still does not work on the straight 2 for x promotions

R&R at waitrose. Is this written down in their policy anywhere, or on a sign in store ?

The stuff gets cascaded down to store manager level all the time, it is then dependent on them reading their emails and then letting their staff know.

As in all walks of life there are some people that do stuff right and some that don't.

If DTD was stopping then stores would know now as it is only 4 hours left before Monday.

Thats as maybe - but Tesco are wonderful at NOT doing it right! Also, although somebody instore might well know that DTD was stopping, but I am far from convinced that the knowledge would be passed on. As late as an hour before coupon usage was severely curtailed on Black Friday, check out staff in my local were assuring me that there was no problem at all and I could certainly continue using a load of coupons for the foreseable future ( I suppose it depends on your definition of 'foreseable but I would certainly expect it to be longer than an hour!).
