DTD (double the difference) ends today Sunday 4pm 10/7/2011
Just been informed by customer services - Serpentine Green, P'boro that Tesco is introducing a new policy that when you are overcharged you will only get the Difference back which will start on Monday 11th July 2011.
In light of the various comments here I have telephoned customer services HO whom informed me that they do not know about this change of policy - in hindsight I should have checked but as this come from the customer services a person that gave me DTD on the striped tumblers yesterday, I had no reason to distrust their comments but is does seem she lied to me. Apologies and next time I will check it out with their HO.
Happy DTD'ing everyone.

Some Tesco stores would have you think that if you are overcharged they will only refund the extra you were overcharged by. Tesco policy is that they refund you double the difference e.g. with the mega bloks, they scan at £30 but if you're lucky enough to find a box with a half price £15 sticker on it then you take it to CS and they should refund you DTD so you keep the mega bloks and get £30 back so a net result of free mega bloks!
If you are thinking of the other DTD whereby they compared prices with Asda, that finished a couple of months ago now.
Funny how they are happy to claim they are cheaper when they obviously weren't, how in the unlikely event that things don't add up they will give you DTD but what has actually happened is that we have shown time and time again that Tesco regularly overcharge their customers and are more expensive than Asda *unless* you are purchasing the BOGOFs that T's have on offer which Asda are unlikely to have at the same time. Mind you, Doritos are a good example whereby even with an offer on in Ts, Asda are still cheaper. So the customer has shown them for what they are and now they're withdrawing DTD.
Makes me even more determined to screw them especially as their RTD policy seems very slow or non-existant these days.0 -
Yes I understand all your comments and how this works along with all the rest, but if you have a DTD in mind, today might be a good time.

How's about a flash mob? Lets say 3pm at the Extra stores and we'll all buy 4 black or coloured swirl glasses and get DTD on them making each glass no more than 25p each!
That particular glitch has been running for weeks now and they still haven't learnt. I keep getting told that the offer is 6 for £6 and I keep explaining that I could get 8 for £6 going by the stickers so why would I pay more for less? Surely to god it would be cheaper and easier to stick the 4 for £3 on their system instead of relying on lowly SAs to remove the stickers and CS to refund? For each 4 glasses sold, we pay £1 and Tesco lose £2. Not the best DTD but great quality glasses for next to nothing.0 -
Just got my first stripy glasses with DTD back, was going to get some more tomorrow, so may have to head back in today then!!!Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0

DTD price checker online compare with Asda - now its "Refund Just The Different" (JTD).
They are talking about in-store DTD :- Guess Tesco will only be paying us back the different - I never bothered with them to be honest too many to catch up:rotfl:won't be able to get my work done if I'll to follow every glitch.:D.RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0 -
What about like in my store where they haven't removed the board that quotes the DTD policy? My daughters are my world0

how will they market this one ,
lets see how about
we said we were chearper than asda, if not will give you DTD back, but as we are not we have stopped that...
that said we are so confident that we will not overcharge you that if we do we will give you DTD back,
but as we as so bad at this too we are stoppng that...
every little helps ( our profits that is!)
OK So we have highlighted this on some high ticket items, but what about all the extra overchages that "most people " Have and do not notice,
can people really be bothered to wait for 5 min at CS to get 5p, 10p ect back I suspect not,
get their pricing sorted then they would not have a problem others seem to manage, Tesco seem not to be able too, I assume someone in Mr T will look at this site yet how long has Mega blocks, striped glases been going on, if they dont look here surly someone must look at why they are giving so much ( or are they) money back0
