What are the best and worst basics/value/smartprice own brand products out there?

Asda sp yorkshire pudding mix 7p a bag. This does a family of 2 just buy 2 bags if you want a big one. I always buy this.
Asda sp custard creams, ginger biscuits and digestives.

Morrisons value mouthwash and morrisons own shower gel 68p for 300ml bottle

Definitely Tesco value baby bath. Currently 5p for 500ml. Its really gentle on the skin, as none of my children have come up in eczema as with other foam baths. It cleans effectively too.

JLL, Am I correctly assuming the shower gel is not a value brand, but a ordinary morrissons brand?

You could add basics UHT skimmed milk from Tesco, sainsbury's and asda. to your list

All are the same taste and good quality.

Back at Tesco's today and checked stock cube price.

Beef/Chicken/Vegetable cubes - 10 for 19p

Also bought

Mixed herbs 19p
Tinned rice pudding 17p
Fabric conditioner 2L 88p

Haven't tried the conditioner yet but will be doing a wash overnight and will let you know tomorrow if it is any good.
