It wasn't me who commented on the chips - I haven't tried them yet but will give them a go if others think they are good. Have been so good at downshifting most things but can't get family off M&S crinkle cut chips!:o

If I remember, next time I'm in store, I will check stock cube price. Don't know why they are not on the website, unless maybe they don't do them anymore.

Hospital visit was good - hubby has been off work 1.5 years but has now been given the ok to return. Hoping to get back 1st August for a couple of days a week to start with. Thanks for asking.:)

ETA: Just checked 1st page, Supersally01 commented on chips.

Supersally01 - are the chips nice and crispy?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOps, think I had a blond one there, its supersally01 he needs to talk to :) and I typed it aswell, double blond :)

thanks in advance regarding the cubes, maybe they have been withdrawn!!!!

good to hear hubby is on the mean, he is starting in the best month to return - August!!!

    thanks again hun

  • I've been trying Smartprice lately - here's what we have found:-

Good (will continue buying even when times are not so hard)

    Dried spaghetti
    Penne pasta
    Passata
    Tinned tomatoes
    Chocolate digestives
    Jaffa cakes
    Custard creams
    Potato salad
    Fresh chicken breasts
    Dolly mixtures
    Lemonade (fine in a shandy!)

Not so good (will not buy again)

    Coleslaw

  • I've tried the Tesco's Value dried pasta (specifically the spaghetti and lasagne sheets) and it tastes the same as the branded stuff. The Value faux-Weetabix are good as well.

Weirdly, the Value strawberries actually taste better than the full-price ones. They are only cheap because they are not uniformly sized...
