smart price & tesco value binbags= explod-a-rubbish  :rotfl:0

Morrisons value baby lotion is awful. Like water it is so thin.0

My kids can't tell the difference between a 20p packet of Tesco Value instant mash than a much more expensive proper Smash. I'd even say it has a slight edge because my son had two lots just dinner time today!Saving as much as possible to replace all the things I've had years and are on their way to the knackers yard :eek:0

Sainsbury's Basics double-concentrate orange squash is a hit in our house at the moment. Nicer than the branded versions, we think. It's much better than the Asda and Tesco equivalents, for some reason.0

asda smartprice washing powder is fantastic. I use it for clothes, the kitchen floor, removing cooked-on foods from oven trays... I laso buy the sparkling water. I like a bit of fizzy lol.
I like totry things out, I will try cheaper items and if I like them, I'll keep buying them. if not, I'll go back to my next cheapest brand. take for instance asda concentrated washing conditioner. I like the asda brand moonflower one, but not the smartprice.
washing up liquid, I'm currently using fairy because of all the vouchers I got from supersavvyme.com... in my name and my husband's! using them combined with a tesco's offer, I got 4 650ml bottles for £1. one of those lasts our small family 2 months!!! I've found the own brand washing up liquids dont actually last as well as fairy, and I've no idea why because they look and feel very similar!
oh, and Lidl Freeway Cola is great in my humble opinion. but kind of addictive.
I would buy more cheaper items, but a lot of packaged food is padded out with whey powder and nobody in my family can have lactose, and whey has it in so in our house, whey = bad times. also Lactose is being used more and more as a flavouring which is really annoying. it's even in salt and vinegar crisps!!0 -
ASDA Smartprice Biological Liquid Concentrated - 28 Washes (1L) - laundry liquid for clothes - £1.54
I would recommend this.Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
Not sure if this has already been mentioned or not but we've tried the Asda Smart Price orange squash this week and it's absolutely fine. Like the lemon squash you need to use a bit more than you would with more expensive double concentrate squash but it's only 28p! I will be buying it instead of the more expensive one from now on.There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0

Basics Salami is £1.29 and is lush! You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

Smartprice Milk Choc - 30p for 100g - is delicious! Was surprised at how nice it is, tastes just like Galaxy but a fraction of the price.
Smartprice Dark Choc (same price) isn't as nice just for eating, but goes down well in baking, and again a fraction of the price of proper cooking choc.
Smartprice digestives are nice as well (recently gone up to 50p a pack from 28p tho!), actually prefer them to McVities now, someone brought some McV's into work and they seem quite greasy in comparison, left an oily mark on the tissue I put them onto on my desk!
I know someone earlier said Smartprice loo roll is to be avoided at all costs, but I always buy it and think it's fine - but I've never been one to spend a fortune on fancy quilted loo roll etc to know the difference!
Smartprice tinned toms are good too (about 32p a tin), and the Smartprice bags of bananas (£1.15 a bag) and apples (99p a bag), no different to the "non value" ones.
Oooh and Smartprice soft cheese (65p a tub) is lovely too, no different to Philly.
Will come back if I think of anymore, I always shop at Asda and buy quite a lot of SP stuff!
thanks Rebelle, I have added your recommendations to the first pageTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -

I really like basics, smart price and value creme caramels and chocolate mousses - all three brands are lovely. The creme caramels are 45p and the mousse around 22p.
Basics snack crackers are very good (a tuc-type biscuit)
basics breakfast muffins and teacakes are great.
Tesco value tortilla chips are fab, as are all three brands of ready salted crisps (and the small bag makes me feel a bit more virtuous)
