Guys.. You think I’m telling porkpies..
Guess I didn’t tell you the full story..
When the officer informed me he was about to give me a Fixed Penalty..(keeping in mind the other cop was still in the police car) I told him to stuff it, I’ll get to court. His reply was.. "There are two of us and only one of you, who they going to believe?
Fair point don’t you think?
I'm waiting on the summons to drop through the door as we speak.
I take offence to some of the comments made above. To shoot you doubters down in flames, I’ll scan, edit, and post on this thread just as soon as I get them..
I can’t believe this sh*t either.. But what can I do?
I'm just a small mr nobody. £ to penny its happning all over the the UK.
KevYour tax bill is the penalty you pay for not helping the right candidates get into office.:D0 -

To the OP, yes i believe that the incident happened. The officer was technically correct in issuing a ticket. For example even if you have the keys to your vehicle, you're asleep in the car and you're p!!!ed, you're still done for drunk in charge. So yes, you were technically in the wrong and the offence was completed.
However, in the real world the issuing of the ticket was way over the top and i would probably push this to court. But people in the past have been done for the same thing, drinking pop, eating sausage rolls, gum etc and some have got off and some have not. Up to you if it's worth pursuing.
However, it is this bit i have the problem with:"There are two of us and only one of you, who they going to believe?
Don't believe a word of it.0 -
I'm still doubtful of this story. What specifically was the fixed penalty ticket for?How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

The offence is:
"not being in proper control of a vehicle on the public highway”0 -

You dont believe a word of it, or dont believe the comment?
I am fully aware of the offence and the validity of it. It’s the pettiness that very much concerns me. As if two cops haven’t got anything better to do.Your tax bill is the penalty you pay for not helping the right candidates get into office.:D0 -
Like i said, i believe you have been issued an FPN, i do not believe a Police Officer would say "There are two of us and only one of you, who they going to believe?" Why?
1. Why would they need to say this? They have given you a ticket you either pay or it's up to the courts to decide guilty or not, nothing to do with them after the tickets been issued.
2. A policeman knows that he has just p*ssed you off giving you the ticket, why would he goad you further with comments like that?
If he did say that the policeman is leaving himself open to his integrity been called into question and if you did complain his mate would have to lie to cover for him. So i can't see a policeman saying this at all, especially when the ticket has been given.
..............and if he did, well, he will get what is coming to him in time. There was a recent report of a Chav been constantly picked up by the police (Good on them, keep the to rag off the street!), but the chav played them at their own game and after goading them he recorded their responses. After that the police are a LOT more careful what they say to Joe Public.0 -
Is this a joke by the OP. No copper in their right mind would give a penalty notice on this, they would be laughed at for months by the other guys. Police officers do not have targets to meet, my ex is one, thats how i know.0

I know numerous police officers, not one of them would of come out with a statement like that. If its true they why aren't you making a complaint through the police complaints commission for your area?0
