I have just ordered one of these from Comet online and noticed this thread  I haven't read it all yet but now I'm worried so I better get reading this thread
If anyone is interested Comet are selling this for £899 including the table top stand , supposedly worth £150 , you also get a choice of 2 half price tv stands/cabinets the cheapest coming out at £99 .not forgetting 3.5% back from Quidco0 -

I would cancel your Comet one.
Buy from Dixons use multiple vouchers.
Get a lot of money off.
Or buy from John Lewis for 919 and get a massive 5 year warranty and not a spotty youth who tells you there is nothing wrong with it.
I have done big research into this tv and you are getting one of the worst deals available:oS!!!!horpe0 -

The question wasn't asking for a detailed answer, as the one you have given is sufficient and not in detail. But hey, thanks for answering the question.
No problem. Not having a go at anyone... but I didn't want this thread to turn into a big discussion about the issues with the Panasonic instead of where to get it cheap. I think it is just a matter of letting people know there is a problem with some of the sets and the matter is discussed at some length on AV Forums if anyone is interested. It is a good set but could be great.0 -

The way I see it, boys, is that I will buy one knowing there could be a problem.
If there is I will take it back time and time again until I get one without a problem:rolleyes:
They may get fed up of me and give me a better one.
But there is not a tv in the UK at the moment that comes close to this amount of value:beer:S!!!!horpe0 -

I was in today - they had the model on display with cabinet for £919 - but it did not have the code after the model to indicate wether the price included the cabinet.Cheers,

Those interested in the model suggested using them -- there is a voucher on the PixMania site which will knock another 25 quid off...(I am not sure if you can collect it from their London store and knock off the 23.40?)
While Pixmania's reputation isn't brilliant, at least it does have an outlet of sorts; if you live in London it's likely to cost you less to get a plasma TV there than to return it to an internet-only supplier. The problem with it being French is that it may take longer to get things repaired as they ship them to Paris - but this is all explained quite clearly in their T&Cs, and I think they give a maximum time for repair, which I'm not sure others do.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
But if they are French how can I possibly have the protection offered by the British consumer law?S!!!!horpe0

I don't think you can - they say you are covered by French law. Who is to say that is inferior, though?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
