Dazco: Have you tried to get JL to PM askdirect?0

I asked for a price match somewhere else about 4 days ago. Still heard nothing.
I believe they have no stock anyway.
But if I get the price match then I do not mind waitingS!!!!horpe0 -

That's a very valid question but yes, I'm using very good quality Scorpion component cables and have been using the same cables with my projector with no problems at all. I'm also using a DVD player that cost over twice the price of the tv which also works fine with my Sony CRT tv and my projector so I'm confident that's not what's causing the problem either. As mentioned , the problem also shows up when watching the built in freeview anyway.
Feel free to take other peoples word that a decent cable is a waste of money but keep in mind most decent hifi/av dealers as well as places like Richer Sounds will give you a free trial so make up your own mind. I don't think anyone with an open mind will feel it's not money well spent.0 -
I would just buy it from JL (try diffrent stores) mine charged me £30 delivery. And then go hunting for the cheapest set as you have 28 days to get a price match. But as these will not be this price for long or you will find it hard to get stock it might be an issue.
I know JL are getting these in stock on the 8th Jan in their warehouse but then they wont hit the stores for 1-2 weeks. But as most stores have orders of 200+ i would get in there asap.
The 5yr warranty esp with JL is worth the £919 they are asking for it. And if you do get purple snakes then JL are one of the best around for exchanges etc. DSG are awful.
My advice get on the phone asap and order one from JL as soon as they take payment then say 'Can i do a price match on this please, as i have 28 days to do so.'
When the price match is accepted you will be given a code.
And i have one with JL on order (hopefully shipped within 2 wks) for £799 as i pricematched with ASK (not askdirect). The only problem at the moment is that they not sure if they can get any PED stands in.0 -
gromituk wrote:It's probably because you are non-technical that you are asking that question: looks like you have been persuaded by marketeers that you need to spend silly amounts on silly bits of wire with silly names and silly appearances. You don't. They are the successor to the overpriced extended warranty con.
Sorry gromituk, but I do disagree. My friend is well up the food chain in the tec department and your average £1.00 leads won't help. He has just come back from Antigua where he as just supervised the refit of a yachts hi-tec wiring.
I am lucky when it comes to installation and periphials that I dont have to pay, and have been shown the difference with the leads. Thats why I am not technical, I dont have to be.
I take delivery of my Panny on Friday £879 with pedestal and 5 year gaurentee from JL.
I still dont understand why people are going elsewhere to get the tv cheaper with a bog standard warrenty. If currys was doing this TV for £779.00 and a 5 year warranty for £100 you would take it.
Thanks to Timmy as well for your back up, and nicely backed up as well.0 -
I also agree those £1 scart leads will be going no where near this tv. I have a few Thor scart cables about and will be using them.
This is a £900 Tv and people who want to use rubbish scart leads to connect it to need their head slapped
It's the same with most things, people buy a £1000 summer house but wont pay the £30 a tin proper treatment but the £3 a tin from B&Q. (note B&Q sell the proper stuff too)0 -

Ah, now that is clever thinking ... what retailers price match online retailers? That is the way to overcome your reservations about Pixmania ... just use their quote and buy somewhere else!0
