"And?????"
"And...?"
Not joining in the bunfight at all, but thinking about this post, and reckon the multiple question marks are taking the place of an ellipsis and question mark, blurring the line between an ellipsis punctuation mark and a string of full stop punctuation marks (admittedly, they do look somewhat identical, and you type one by typing the other three times!)0 -
So due to your gross inappropriate use of the comma are we to assume that you are as thick as Pigshit?;)
Let he who is without sin.....................
Just curious - where do you think fluffnutter has inappropriately used commas?
PS love the use of ellipsis (or maybe I should say 'ellipses'. :rotfl:0 -
D punctuation n grammer on dis thread is orrible. peopl shud learn to spell properly. it s discgsting wen peopl canot spel. u all sound like foreners.i agree. dis is disgusting-people know no proper grammar or puntuation dese days. peopl shud always spell currect otherwise dey shud be baned from postings here.
Do you think that's amusing?
Or have you learned everything you know from the (soon-to-be-defunct) News of The World?0 -
There's a couple of threads that some people might like to go visit
Or should that be 'there are'? There is a couple, or there are a couple...which is grammatically correct? I shall retreat now and leave others to fight over that one!

This is a particularly interesting problem.
"A couple walked down the road, at the junction it turned left."
Sounds daft which implies that you do not think of 'a couple' as a singular entity - even though it clearly is - but
"A group walked down the road, at the junction it turned left."
Sounds perfectly correct.
Similarly, "I got in touch with the company, it said ..." does not, to most people, sound as natural as "I got in touch with the company, they said ..."There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
no, it s not anusing wen peopl make 2 many mistakes. problem is 2 many immigrants in britain hence the decline in speeling.
The first time it was slightly amusing, but Private Eye do a slightly better job of satire.
The second time it was pushing joke the joke too far
This time you just appear thick:(0 -
