More than three exclamation marks are a sure sign of a diseased mind.

Text shorthand is lazy and childish, rarely saves as much time as the writer claims, and looks bloody awful. I would rather pay for two texts than look like a teenage moron.

And I believe the correct spelling is 'freaking'. :)

Correct grammar, punctuation and spelling are important only in that they convey one's thoughts correctly and without the possibility of mis-interpretation.

An English teacher asked his class to correctly punctuate the following sentence:

"A woman without her man is nothing".

All of the males in the class wrote:

"A woman, without her man, is nothing."

    All of the females wrote:

"A woman: without her, man is nothing."

One of the reasons people like clear sentences and good grammar is because it shows the poster is making some effort in the posting, which is only respectful when asking for advice or discussing a point. Rather, something like "plz hlp i wnat a lone 4 10k n hav bad crdt" and "Please help - I want a loan for £10k, but have a poor credit history" are going to get very different responses as the second shows that the poster has made some effort with the question, and will respect the answers they are asking people to give up their time to give. Lazy writing doesn't value the reader.
