    Hi all,

I seem to be able to get on my laptop less and less at the moment,& though I try to read everyday I've only just caught the last of yesterdays thread,so I'll just throw a bunch of hugs for you to help yourselves if you want one.
    JackieG-a wedding-how lovely :j

Tea is whoopsied steak for 3- DS1 has already decamped to GFs for the weekend.Weather is pretty grotty, heavy showers and thundery.
I've been doing lots of decluttering-stuff thats been in drawers since we moved in 4 years ago :o-lots of shredding and chucking out,my bins nearly full.

I've also made myself a maxi dress-it was some lovely fabric off the market, black and cream, cost £5.50.We've got a meal coming up later in the month-some friends are coming from Oz,they want to go to the restaurant near us,so i can wear it then :)

Right, off to have a catch up with my DB2-have a good weekend xx

    Hi all,

I dont post very often but read everyday, think i will be posting more just for support and a sounding board. I am Sue, married for the second time to Andy - a good divorce 11 years ago and still have a brill relationship with X, have 2 dds and 1 ds and one mad as a box of frogs dgs who is 3 - I work full time in local school in early years most of the time but teach yr1 and yr2 for an afternoon a week (i love my job) I have fantastic supportive parents and i guess I have had the perfect life for which i am some grateful. I am struggling at the mo though as my darling father got diagnosed with cancer of the rectum 6 weeks ago and we already know from the test that it has spread to the liver and lungs, he is in for surgery Thursday ( 6 hour op) to remove the cancer and to have an illiostomy sp?? the hospital have been brill and have explained everything and my brother and I are able to call dads nurse to ask any questions needed to be answered. We am travelling down Wednesday evening so Andy can take dad into hospital and so we can be there for the first week whilst he is hospital to support mum and take her to the hositpal for visits etc - I just feel so lost at the mo i guess - we live in York and mum and dad are in essex so we are not just round the corner - This site always has such common sense I hoping that in bad days (may there be few) you will help me see the positives. Sorry for the rambling it is the way the brain is at the mo,

    Sue x

    Evening all,

Welcome Tw1nklestar, positive vibes on their way to your dad.

Very heavy showers here all day...just went as far as OH's bank to sort out his cards....he has 2 accounts and lost a card earlier last week, so needed to get it sorted out....he won't go on his own as he can't hear what people say to him, or says he can't, I think that he thinks I'm his mother at times!!

Dogs wet every time they went outside to-day, can't leave them in all the time, but they could stay out of the long grass...I can't be washing floors 3 times a day, can't understand why they don't know that!

Dinner to-day was chicken, broccoli and potatoes, had some tea brack to follow, which is very naughty but it needed to be used up!! DD4 bought me a melon, 2 mangoes, a pineapple and 2 pink grapefruit...."because I know that you are trying to eat healthily"....wasn't that nice? We get on extremely well most of the time, rest of time I could wring her neck but she's a good girl really! She has gone to visit DD1 and DS1 and family in Cork, so will miss her over the weekend.

Brother bought me a coffee machine for my birthday....lavazza one which uses 'pods' to make the coffee....16 pods are €6 in Avoca ( very expensive lovely shop) so I decided that I would try for them online.....so far have got the same ones at 16 for €5.99, so don't think I will bother with that. Will keep looking, might be cheaper to get from UK site, they seem to be £3.89 there, but changing money and paying for postage might bring them up anyway. Coffee is lovely and at €.375 much cheaper than espresso etc in restaurant or cafe.

DS2, who works in London is coming home to-morrow "to see the young lad" aka Mossy, his dog ( shared ownership with DD3) so there will be some excitement when Mossy sees him.

Still eating lots of salads, no sign of a ripe tomato, but maybe we might get a few hot days next week to bring them on, should be some mange tout soon also.

    JackieG...exciting times for you all.

Should go to bed soon as want to go to IKEA on way to airport in morning, so want to be up and away early as like to take a leisurely wander around.

Hugs to all in need or want of one, congratulations to those who are celebrating and thank you all for being my friends. Stay safe and well.

    Marie

tw1nklestar welcome great place to unload your cares here honey.I will have a word with the Big Guy tonight and remember your Pa in my evening prayers, it sure can't hurt.I spoke to Davy tonight and he's feeling a bit cream-crackered at the moment I think the treatment is wearing him down a bit bless himBut he too is a fighter and said he will do his best to kick the bu$$er into touch if at all possible.
meanmarie ask DS2 to bring you some from the mainland if at all possible if the 'pods' are cheaper over here.I send my brother Tesco's red label tea as its the one he likes as french tea is like cats wee according to him.Mind the postage is almost as much as the tea :):)
had a great afternoon at history and we went through the first three King Georges,The last one seemed to be the best even though he was mad as a box of frogs and had 15 children.
Tutor has sent a stiff letter to Kent Uni so we are hoping that we can get something arranged re our last year of CCS course.
