Kids are pretty likely to have their phones stolen or lost anyway which is another good reason not to let them have a contract. Even if they're reliable themselves do you trust all their mates 100% not to start calling premium rate numbers as soon as their backs are turned.
I dont.0 -

Does anyone know what I can do to retrieve this money as I cannot afford it and feel strongly that my situation has been ruthlessly exploited by this huge company?
Take responsibility. my son is 13,has an unlimited text on o2 and 500mb internet, both on PAYG. You got him a contract, HE exploited and now YOU have to pay.
YOu must take responsibility, rather than blaming everyone else. Would you refuse to pay your gas bill cos it was too high, even though you used it?0 -

Son had contract at aged 11, phone not stolen. now has PAYG blackberry and is 13. We trust him and until he breaks that trust we will continue to trust him - and his taste in friends.0 -

PAYG phone isnt going to run up much of a debt. You are nuts giving an 11 year old a contract phone. Why do you think the network wouldnt give him one.0 -

What a load of unsympathetic people you are!
I have actually managed to get a refund of half the money from Vodaphone today so it was definately worth challenging.
We are all up against the greed and exploitation of big companies and should fight them when we can.
You're talking nonsense. You talk about greed but they gave you half back. Even though it was for services you used. No wonder your son is irresponsible if you go around blaming everyone but yourself. Absolutely no acknowledgement of your own stupidity0 -

If you noticed the long post i detailed earlier you will notice in my scribbling nature i wrote simple non baised ideas being a Ex-Employee for the company in Question But let me be the first to tell you No matter how old his son is He is responsibile as the bill payer
When people try everyday to aviod payment or a quick fix in a business it is a Loss they have to recoop as a business weather that means raising call charges or line rental which in turn means more revenue from its customers.(and expense)
Take into consideration the staff who need to be paid to answer the calls or provide services If we all decided to not pay up a bill and go down that route the big business you mention would fold
