Hi Stormy, thanks for posting, it's good to hear from you, I may not always post a reply but I do read your words hun.

Anyway, sleep well tonight, it's been another week and a half for you, I reckon you must be exhausted especially with the the travelling, it does take it out of you. So I'm sending you a little strength to get through another day, still thinking of you and yours.XXX

She is really fine about it and says another year wont make a difference. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that the repurcussions of this tragedy spread far and wide and in a way, it's lovely that she feels it wont be the same without John, but it's her wedding. I've tried to tell her that life is too short and she should go ahead, but to no avail.

Don't worry about it too much. Doubtlessly she will have other reasons as well as this to put the wedding off - reasons she may not wish to share.

Morning to you all, twink you are so right. I do try and give a friendly smile to everyone I pass. Well done stormy with work. My dad was my step-dad and like I always said to him "anyone can be a father but it takes a special person to be a dad". I was lucky that I had two dads.
    Have a good day everyone

Hi Stormy bay, I've jusy popped in to see how you are doing. You are a remarkably strong lady and I admire you for the way you are coping through this difficult time.

Stormybay, just caught up with the thread. I am SO sorry for your loss. It makes all the little irritations we have in a family, just fade away doesn't it. It is always horrible losing a loved one. My step dad died in a swimming pool in September 2000. I miss him still, and my mother has never really come to terms with it. And I hate the fact that my two children will never know him.

You have also made me realise that this life is not a rehearsal. It is no good sitting about. I have depression currently and have been getting worse again. But 'couldn't be bothered' to go to the drs to get some more help. I will be there on Monday though, so thanks for that.

This thread has just reinforced what I already thought, that it is a very caring site.

    Morning all

It's a gorgeous day here, just got back from seeing DH, he's all shipshape now and the bulbs are starting to poke through :)

Stormy, well done fo getting thorugh DS1's birthday, I am sure it was not easy for any of you but you got there and John would be proud of you all. It's all so raw still and the first few months will be the worst in terms of other celebrations but carry on tackling them in the same way, one day or hour at a time.

As to your friends wedding please don't take on a lot of unncessary guilt about it, your friend sounds like one of the best and I am sure she has not postponed it just for your sake. Like you say she said it will not be the same without John there. Just keep talking to her and letting her know your hopes/fears/concerns about it all.

When my DH died my sister was due to marry 7 weeks later. The first thing I said to her was 'This wedding goes ahead' as to my mind it was way to close to rearrange things but she was prepared to rearrange for my sake. So it went ahead but it was SO hard for me with all the memories of our wedding day. Had it been 6 months or more away then maybe it could have been rearranged so please please don't feel bad about it. Blimey I hope that makes sense.

Right better get these ebay parcels wrapped and posted, see you all later and hope you all have a good day.

    xx
