  • Oh i booked a holiday today out of the house fund :) Stuff the house, as i have no need to buy that much to do it up- we have plenty of paint and wallpaper and that will get sorted when i get back. I can rejuvenate the windows and as long as i keep on top of things in the coming year, i don't see it being much of a problem.

A nice week in Cornwall so i can visit DD1 and co when there. DS and DD2 are coming as well so are paying their share..Frugal and cheap week will ensue, as we can't afford to push t'boat out- but we can have a nice relaxing time. The site is lovely and in a valley we have been before and know how relaxing it is. I have books i can read and we have NT tickets through Quidco :) Plenty of lovely beaches and Son in Law is cooking Sunday lunch- how good is that?

It takes us a long time as well, but they live right down at the bottom of Cornwall near Penzance and The Lizard, so if i want to see her don't have a lot of other options really..:o Plus with it being such a long journey then it generally has to be in the hols as it takes so long to recover after the drive:eek:

We used to go at 11.30 at night. Drive and have a comfort stop and strong coffee at Exeter services and then turn in towards Launceston and park up for a couple of hours just as dawn was breaking. Much less stressful than queueing down the M5 over Avonmouth.

    Happy days :)

I have done the night trip before- never again:eek: The weather was warm and foggy and we had to pull over in the end. I know what you mean tho about the M5 carpark:cool::rotfl: We will go down on Friday and stop over night at DD2's but she is in Naval accomodation and it is too much with 4 of us in there and her two dogs:rotfl: So will move to campsite on Sat and hopefully miss a lot of things.
I normally stop at my brothers on the way down but he is away, nice handy half ways top at Bath ...he is there on the way back tho;):D
