I enjoyed it- but it was a catalyst for a lot of renewed thinking:oBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I am not down as such KC- I often find it difficult to express how i feel really. Debt wise i get confused about what i *should* and *shouldn't* do.
I think i may have confused the issue a bit as i try and portion off debt and figures therefore will not match up.
If i explain a bit:
The overdraft is Mr.B's i did put money into this account to the tune of over £400 a month initially to cover bills and i also topped up if necessary to pay Mortgage ( we used to get family tax credits and family allowance paid into this as well which was supposed to cover incidental expenses such as college things) Mr.B continued to run it up, paying increasingly higher payments on his credit cards..it happens to everyone when rates increased, but i did get annoyed as there was a lot of money going in there and yet every month the charges increased because he was not taking any action on his debts.
It took about 18 months to run it up to the limit:o So i took on paying the major things, mortgage, food, insurances and bank loan and didn't put any more money in the account. The idea being that at least £800+ was not coming out of the account yet, the same amount was going in. At the same time i also took out cards to transfer debt over and therefore allow him a breather to pay off a few things. Therefore increasing my debt, but at the same time thinking that it would decrease the joint overdraft. The ultimate result was me constantly kicking myself for him still refusing to sort anything out and not budgeting. He had the potential to pay the overdraft down by at least £150 per month( on top of a good start by over £600) on a very lenient budget, still meet all his payments and pay half of the utility bills.
So this is the dilemma- i didn't actually include the overdraft in my original calculations to pay off-simply because i didn't think i should pay towards it when i have paid a lot of things off. I may sound mean in saying this as i realize that some folks really won't be aware of how much i have struggled to get him on board and work as a couple to pay things off. His habits are well ingrained and it was only by literally pushing it to the limit that anything gets done..which i feel completely saddened by. I also have bad habits which i am trying to work on- a lot of this goes completely against my nature. So if i include it then the total increases by nearly £3000:o I suppose i should do really as it is a joint named debt..but i am squeaking my teeny violin here.
I refuse to post maudlin thoughts any more:p:p- i think i should get back to my old self and post about the day instead.:p Next;)Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Well today i have had a bit of a cleaning fest. Not a deep one, but the niggly little jobs which need doing every now and then.
Windows have been cleaned inside and out downstairs but only inside for upstairs. I am too tight to pay for a window cleaner at the moment:D:money:
I pulled the cooker out and girded my loins there- I think a whole new foodstuff was growing_pale_ I mop the floor quite regularly but forgot to do round there- anyways that has been cleaned and outsides of cooker cleaned as well..it feels fresher already.:D
Three lots of washing done and out on the line- will have to do the ironing later but that is ok as i quite like ironing.I know i am a total saddo..
Money found today from cleaning efforts totals £1.50- :money:The couch doesn't yield what it used to..:rotfl:
Frugal tea last night was two pork chops from the freezer which normally wouldn't have made a meal for four of us, but by chopping up and making a version of stroganoff( slimming world recipe) was really yummy..and plenty of veg.:D
Not sorted out tea tonight no one is particularly hungry yet and can't decide what they want.
So a good day for getting things done.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

What *exactly* do you mean by that? Obviously everyone falls asleep virtually all nights, so it's probably not that. You know, someone said a while back (on the radio I think) that Newcastle and Sunderland football clubs ought to share facilities to save money...
