Ages ago I found a web recommendation to try feeding him in the same place where he toilets as cats don't like mixing food and toileting areas. Worked for us on one of our nervous cats.
When we moved our cat wee'd on the duvuet! Three separate times no less! The drycleaners knew the minute I walked in the door what was up!0 -
We have recently adopted two moggies and one has taken to snoozing in the litter tray rather than his comfy bed? Isn't this odd? Can anyone suggest a way of enticing him out and using his bed?0

Any suggestions?0

I have now tried the washing powder thing, sprayed the area with lemon and still not working. We're off to the vets tomorrow...0

Poor kitty ... I was going to suggest using Feliway but I see you already have that. I've moved a few times and use the Feliway spray. It seems to do the trick but it does take a while for my cats to start going outside again once we've settled in.:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove

Hi, once you've ruled out any medical problems, try this one.
We had the same problem with our cat just after we moved home, he kept weeing on the carpet at the bottom of the stairs. We tried this and it worked - we've had no 'illegal wees' since!
Cut and open out a black plastic bin liner so that it's one large sheet of plastic and place it over he spot where he wees.
The first time he does his business, instead of the wee soaking into the carpet, it puddles around his feet and they get wet! cats really do not like their feet getting soaked in their own wee. It put the wind up our cat, he ran off (You have to be quick to grab them so the house doesn't get covered in wee-prints!) and he never did it again.
It's worth a try!Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0 -
Cat wee can be the hardest thing to get rid of for sure, one of our cats had an accident a while ago and I tried everything but nothing seemed to work until I discovered "urine off" from QVC it is one of the only products on the market to break down urine crystals and it is superb, you can order it from qvc or if you live near one of their outlet stores you can get it cheap in there. My friend is a veterinary nurse and nvq assessor and she says there is nothing else like it available and she always keeps it in - worth a try if nothing else works;)Love my job in the bank and am proud to say that, however I only do what is right for the customer no matter what, probably why I am on top of customer service nominations by my customers :A0

...£50 poorer! That was for a 3 pack of Frontline and an antibiotic jab. After a previous weeing incident we threw him out and he was picked on by another cat and it looks like he's picked up a bit of an infection from the cuts. Got to go back in a few weeks time for booster jabs.
All the vet could suggest was to get another litter tray and put that by the front door because I was doing everything that they would have suggested anyway. She said that buying a big water pistol would be good - anything to deter any other cats from coming near the house! Also to try to blank off the bottom of our glass door so he can't see out. It's a good job we're replacing the door shortly!!!
Like the idea of black bags and the wee pooling around his feet. Might give that a go!

Well I thought I'd post again about this in case anyone else has this problem. We bought him an igloo shapped bed and he loves it and always sleeps in there now. He obviously liked having a roof when he sleeps!!!0
