Women and cats will do as they please, men and dogs (and Kimberly) should just get used to it!:p

You cat owners can do as they please, but me as a cat owner will not let my cat in the kitchen, not even my foster dogs are allowed. I think it's unhygenic and so are flies, but flies you can keep out too.

    ........How?

I have a sheet (forgot what it's called) that you have to fix with velcro onto your windows when they are open, it's a bit like the one you get to stop indoor cats getting outside when your window/doors are open.

Like a black mosquito net? There was something like that attached to our back door when we moved in and velcro all around our windows. I'm still trying to get the dirty velcro/glue off the upvc several years on.

No this is clear mesh like fabric, it's hardly visible when it's up. You just put it up when your windows are open.

Hello, we use paper based cat litter and put used newpapers down first at the bottom-we find this soaks up any wee really well and makes it easy to clean out!

Cats will always make a mess with litter trays, ours flick their feet when they get out, to make sure nothing is on their paws...so there are bits on the floor on a daily basis (but easy enough to brush up, and its usually only the clean bits anyway).

We use wooden litter, and find there's no smell. I line the hooded tray with newspaper and use large liners (not cheap, but I'd rather that than be elbow deep in poop and pee), and the cats use it just fine as long as it's emptied every other day.

The youngest has been speyed now, too, so to be honest, it seems they all go out to do what they have to do.

I put the cat litter tray inside a black bag and then push the air out and tuck the ends under the tray. Then fill the tray with litter.

When you go to empty the tray you just get the ends from underneath and turn the bag inside out from the bottom. That way you never spill any litter!

    Did that make sense? :rotfl:

Quite a few cat owners have these, they are really good, the cats love sitting there looking out into the garden and the mesh isn't thick, you can easily move it aside to walk out of the door.
