I got the upspec version last xmas... great bit of kit.

The r/c clock can take a good number of hours to synch... try leaving it on overnight if you have problems.

Incidentally, I mounted the outdoor sensor directly onto a fence in my garden - I've had no problems whatsoever (even with the recent monsoons), although 12 months on I'm now getting the low battery symbol.

I got mine today, great bit of kit for the price. I've put the remote unit in my shed with the sensor poked through a hole so it's outside, it's about 50 feet away and picks the signal up no problem.
I too had trouble setting the time automatically so set it manually. It'll probably sort itself out in the small hours tomorrow.

RE the time.... thanks for your suggestions. I got one for my Dad yesterday and after fiddling with it for a few minutes the correct time appeared so it doesn't necessarily only do it in the small hours.

I did the same fiddling with mine today and nowt  I've reset it a few times and followed the destructions but still nothing.

I'll leave it up and running and see if it's sorted itself out tomorrow. I'm sure one of you clever people will figure it out as a few of us are having the same problems.
Just run, run and keep on running!

    I got one too :)
Arrived at the comet store at 17:00 as the staff were closing the door.
I asked to please be let in as I knew exactly what I wanted. So I was let in and got the last one :)
In picked it up and out in a minute - the guy controlling the door was shocked that I had been so fast.

Same thing happened to me, after a reset, leave it in a south/southeast window (if you have one) as the UK (MSF) transmitter is in Rugby.
