Really, mmm, you most be so clever.
The fact that mikey knows that I work for the LAS, and this has caused antagonism before, something whcih you know very little about.
"challenged"?
What do you mean by that you opinionated half wit.
You know nothing about me, or what I know or don't know.
You know nothing about what I do or have seen, absolutely NOTHING.
I suggest you wind your neck in and grow up a bit.
Throwing comments that people are "challenged" merely shows you up to be an uniformed and abusive.
You don't think that commenting about what a particular job is called in a Service that you are not in is beyond stupid.
You believe what you want about mikey72's comments, it was aimed at me so therefore your opinion is like much of what you say, pointless and merely wastes forum space.
Give me strength.
You really need to get the chip off your shoulder.
Why you think the thread revolves around you I have no idea.
Obviously you can't phone a friend, so I'll put you out of your misery.
You stated all ambulances have top spec tyres.
All the PTS have spec tyres.
That makes sense because they're supplied by the Ambulance service, and run by the ambulance service
You also said all the fitters vehicles are fitted with top spec tyres.
I said
"And the fitters familes, and the fitters friends vehicles are fitted with top spec tyres too"
Because the fitters take their families vehicles in on a Sunday afternoon and fit them. When they fit the top spec tyres to their own vechicles as well.
It's a joke about fitters doing a bit on the side for their mates, as in "tyre fitters" , same way you get the oil change done on your car, when it's quiet at the weekend, (unless you manage to upset them like you do everyone else)
To be honest, half my family are paramedics, you always come over far more like someone that does the rounds picking up and dropping off the outpatients, and always a wannabee for blues and twos.
(And if you want to get technical it's Epilepticus, not Epilipticus, but I agree, that really does show far more about you)0 -
This is unfortunately quite true the P6000 are an awful tyre, despite the good money sometimes asked for them
I'm surprised at your comments. I've run 2 53 plate pug 406 on them with no problems. Did 60k in one on 2 sets of tyres and 35k in another which had reasonable life left in them when I sold it.
And yes I had to brake hard at times in them but no problems. The only time the ABS came on with them fitted was in snow or ice.0 -
They do wear well but I had them on a car years ago and suffered horrific tramlining / standing water clearance issues with them and they just seemed to totally lose grip when on any kind of wet surface.
Don't get me wrong they would do and will still be better than the cheapest of the cheap but generally not worth the money asked for them - they're usually more expensive than kumhos, toyos and hankook evos' - all of which are far superior tyres0 -
I have P6000s on the front of our second car (a Mitsubishi Space Star -- decent enough chassis shared with the Volvo V/S40 and Carisma and with passive rear-steer -- generally a car with good grip), with Admirals on the back (cheap Khumos), and it's the front that always lets go first. When they were on the back, the rear let go. I conclude from that that they are inferior to Khumo tyres.
This doesn't, of course mean that they are worse than the nasty stuff like Linglongs and Sunews but I'd only have them if they were £40 efforts and not the £60-70 tyres that they are.0 -

My current car (jag X type) had Pirelli P Zeros fitted as standard (20k life) which gave some fairly serious tramlining, cured by fitting Kumhos but otherwise were OK.
Talking on Jaguar forums the opinion was it seemed fairly common and that it was the odd wear pattern of the Pirelli's that caused the tramlining? I found by swapping front to rears the tramlining went away for about 200 miles then came back so I lived with it until they wore out. Also some owners reported no problems but that it seemed older build cars were Ok whilst 08 on had a problem. Something to do with the change of hub design and a few other tweaks perhaps?
Perhaps pirelli suit some cars and not others?0 -
I never drive at a level that it becomes noticeable, simples. I do the speed limit a lot so it has nothing to do with speed either.
Tyres have limited grip, this is shared by accelerating, braking and turning therefore grip used for braking cannot be used for turning. The budgt range of tyres have smaller grip circles http://f1-dictionary.110mb.com/traction_circle.html.
Yes they have to be made to pass a standard premiums exceed the standerd and have a better thread design to remove water.
the price difference is not much, for my car 155/60/13 poverty spec tyres are 39, 48 for mid, 50 for premium from blackcircles

I had Pirelli 6000's on a MB 320 estate, powerful car in it's day and no slouch now, full power take offs and swift driving regardless of weather were handled with no problems by those tyres, no wheelspins (ASR seldom lit up unless icy) or drama.
They did me proud.0
