Tyres - What is the Truth?

Well I have just bought two new tyres and went Hankook Optimo 4s (now mid-range priced!) but got good Auto Bild reviews. Will change over end of September/October when I get around to it but the Hankook are all-season so took the punt before prices rise which they have a bit already!
The tyres getting replaced are a mix Continental and Maxxis- have to say for a high end budget the Maxxis hasn't really been that noticeable and didn't seem too bad a tyre.
The ones I swapped to the rear were Nokian All-Season which were on the front last winter, mix of summer and all-season was a bit interesting at times! They've been decent tyres, good in snow and slush, but low rolling resistance which I don't like in tyres- same as Michelin Energy the grip isn't as good in the wet as it should be IMV but still fine as long as you aren't hooning around.0 -
i like to get a decent brand name if i can afford it , nicer ride , less road noise , and the best chance off stopping if theres ever an emergency
just remember its all thats keeping you on the road , the tenner a tyre saving wont be worth it when you are in a ditch , shop around and find some discount codes and you likley find a premium tyre for what a fast fit will want for a ditch finder0
