I recently bought 4 items from the same seller. I emailed him, before paying, asking if he could combine postage & send the 4 items together, and asked for a revised invoice to be sent.
He refused to do this.
I've now received the items, and they were all sent in the same package, and to be honest I'm fuming. The postage he paid was £2.00 (for the whole lot - they're quite light), but he charged £1.50 per item (which means he's up by £4.00 by combining, but didn't pass the discount on).

I would, but I'm nasty. At the very least a neutral and low stars. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Neutral I think, and 1 star on p&p, low on his comms, and I wouldn't be generous with his dispatch time and item as described unless he was really outstanding.0

Before you leave it contact him and say how unhappy you are (dont mention anything about Feedback though) that at leas gives him a chance to put the matter right. If the response then is not satisfactory you can leave your FB based on that.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

You have asked about postage before you paid, been given an answer, then gone ahead and paid.
Seems to me like you have the items at the price you agreed to.0 -
Were they paid separately? If paid as one transaction the seller would have also saved three lots of PP fees, compared to 4 buyers purchasing separately.0

If you are fuming, why do you need opinions?0

But the seller went back on their part of the agreement and posted with an arrangement that suited him more than if he'd agreed to the buyer's request.No_Eye_Deer wrote: »You have asked about postage before you paid, been given an answer, then gone ahead and paid.

If they didn't want to combine postage, fine, but then they should have sent separately, not all in one parcel. He should really have then passed his savings on to his customer, since that's what usually encourages people to come back and buy more, or at least to leave good feedback, surely what every seller wants.

Even if you agree with your argument (which in reality most reasonable sellers would combine anyway its called customer service). If they were sent seperate you would have a point but the seller combined and never passed the saving onto the customer.No_Eye_Deer wrote: »You have asked about postage before you paid, been given an answer, then gone ahead and paid.

If they dont offer any refund it will be a well deserved neg and low stars methinks'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

I agree, if you feel a bit miffed then contact the seller and give them the opportunity to partially refund you, be clear, say what you want but don't mention feedback as this may be taken as misuse.
Give feed back according to how you rate the buying experience. I think a neg is a bit unfair though as the seller has no obligation to combine.
I think a neutral with a fact based comment would cover it.0 -

Foolish person.
Op doesn't mention an agreement before they paid, in fact quite the opposite, they knew that it wouldn't be getting combined postage before they paid - if i am reading it right.
Yes I would combine postage as a seller, but as buyer I wouldn't leave a neg as nothing was agreed before I bought. I still have the items at the price I agreed to. I might mark down on postage but that's about all.0
