  • Yes, I have just checked made up of charges. Awful.
SPC £500 well will try very hard.

    GC £6.16/£150
  • So will adding the 'Select Silver' to the basic account will automatically upgrade the account to a full natwest current account (which would give access to cheque books overdrafts etc ) or even after adding the 'select silver' to basic account it still remains a non borrowing account ?? and if this is the case then does that mean to upgrade to a natwest Full current account one still has to have a full 'credit scored application' and will simply not be upgraded ?????

Also if one is accepted for the new select account (old current account plus) and then adds silver to it then too it is called a select silver account and if one has a basic account and then adds select silver then too it is called a select silver account so how does one differentiate which account would have the borrowing facility like cheque books etc and which not ?

Sorry if this has been posted or answered before but this is all very confusing !!!!!!!!!!!! Will be glad if any one can clarify and advise on this !!!!

My understanding is there are two forms of select silver account

    1. A basic one which is merely the basic account with silver benefits with the customer still treated like a leper if they wanted to borrow any money
    2. The proper one
  • Received a reply from NatWest - they are positively investigating the removal of the default (their words)

    Sounds hopeful doesnt it?

The current NatWest VISA Debit leaflet (NOT the one for Basic accounts) only mentions being able to withdraw from NatWest machines. I wonder if this is simply to encourage folks to use NatWest machines where possible or a sign of further changes to come.

I suspect a bit of the encouragement and a bit of trying to keep the information simple - any mention of free cash withdrawals from other ATMs has to have the additional notes about the possibility of additional charges from the ATM provider and it looks like that leaflet is trying to be fairly concise with the information.

    Time will tell!

Well where I live I'm only able to get money out of a Natwest ATM no BOS machines around. I used a BOS one at Kings Cross when I was there, just annoyed that I have to walk out my way to get cash out if I want to pay by cash. Unfortunatly doesn't look like I can change banks so stuck with a limiting card :(

That is what I had to do as I was told the existing account would never be upgraded. So I have the original account (no borrowing, no cheque book, no overdraft) as Silver Select and a new Select account (no silver benefits and no monthly fee) that is a full current account with purple debit card, cheque book and overdraft.

    Page 4 has that information.

Anybody know if the "blue" online card issued with some Select accounts works in non-Group Link ATMs?
