Natwest step account changes

Existing Step/Key account will be unaffected by the changes.
Though they will be able to 'add on' Select Silver (RBS) without being subject to credit checks as per the vast majority of existing 'upgrades'.0 -

That's a relief. It's good to be happy with your bank. I've been that impressed I was thinking about opening a second account just for budgeting purposes. One account just for bills other for general spend. I guess If I want to do that I best do it Pronto!!!!!!It takes two to tango!:rotfl:0 -

Good to hear that you're happy. This place doesn't have to be just about the negatives.0 -
Interesting replies, thank you.
So basically they are just trying to get me to go in and upgrade my account.
Im not too happy really as the woman who served me today was quoting 'lots of changes', almost to the point that she had me thinking my account would be virtually useless unless I made an appointment.
She told me ' you wont be able to use your card anywhere but Natwest branches'. So as the above poster says that even staff are not aware of that yet she was telling porkies.0 -

Either poor training or deliberate misinformation.0 -
Communications have been rolled out so staff should be aware. They are streamlining the accounts between both brands so that they offer the same things. This is in effect from Monday (4 July)
I work in Private and from what I've seen it has had the most changes and and so we have had the training already. (Fewer benefits now, but much better benefits, increased to £24 per month)
I did briefly read that ATM access on the Basic account will be restricted - you will be able to use your cards at Natwest/RBS branded ATMs only. I believe this includes the Tesco ones too.
The websites should be upgraded tomorrow (3 July) to include details on the new accounts.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

Twister, If I applied for another step account today will I still recieve the benefits that I'm currently recieving? It takes two to tango!:rotfl:0

I also have Advantage blue and £8.00 is not bad but are they going to include anything else in the package account?
IIRC you'll be getting downloads from Lovefilm (3 per month) and HMV music downloads (5 per month).
They're getting rid of Accidental Death Insurance in Advantage Black anyway, so I've got a feeling this will also be removed in Advantage Blue & Gold.
The are also getting rid of the extended warranty services and the age restrictions on the travel insurance on the Gold Accounts - amongst other things.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

Yes, but you must to do it today - everything will go off sale as of tomorrow and be replaced with the new accounts.
I'd imagine *eventually* everyone will move over to the new accounts (I know Private customers will have an option as a lot of them have charge cards) - but for now, if you need it as it is, go for it.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

Ok so if I apply for another step account today and wait to recieve paperwork etc I will still have everything I'm use to I.E withdraw money from any ATM as well as all the other benefits. who knows I might get lucky and they might offer a current account plus!!! Whats the quickest to apply by phone or by the web?It takes two to tango!:rotfl:0
