Natwest step account changes

Ok so if I apply for another step account today and wait to recieve paperwork etc I will still have everything I'm use to I.E withdraw money from any ATM as well as all the other benefits. who knows I might get lucky and they might offer a current account plus!!! Whats the quickest to apply by phone or by the web?
This was discussed in our meeting the other day. If a customer applies for an account before the new accounts go live, the bank will honour the old application, ie same benefits. Just take into account what I mentioned in my earlier post - that every account will probably be migrated over sooner or later.
As for the best way to apply...online all the way!Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

Are there going to be any changes to savings accounts? I'm very surprised they are limiting the Step account like that, it'll be like Lloyds TSB's basic account. Shame as the Step account was one of the best basic accounts on offerDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

I just spoke to Natwest and can't say I'm over the moon with there changes that they are looking to put in. Like you say Jen245 it will be exactly like the LTSB Basic account. As an existing step account customer I will have the restriction on ATM Withdrawals as from sept/Oct 2011. As for all new customers applying tomorrow onwards it will be the norm. Pretty dissapointed. It takes two to tango!:rotfl:0 -

At the minute only Current Accounts are changing. Nothing regarding savings accounts has been mentioned.
I'm guessing they will be more than likely changed following the migration.
@cbassno3 - Did you manage to get your Current Plus account?Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

I haven't tried yet. I'm not going to hold my breath on getting one. Been with Natwest around 6 weeks and the only option I could have was the step account so It might not be the best idea to try then leave a search on my CRA. I could get lucky but not sure if it's worth it catch 22.It takes two to tango!:rotfl:0 -

Ah OK. You are still searched when you apply for the Step Account just so you know, but if that was all that was offered 6 weeks ago, I wouldn't recommend trying to open a Current Plus.
Besides, you can always upgrade later on - the Current Plus is only being rebranded to "Select" account - the features of the account will remain the same.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

Not impressed with having to be a "Select" holder instead of the Natwest Current Plus I've had for more years than I care to remember.
They always have to mess with things sooner or later, don't they?! -- what on earth is wrong with a current account having 'Current' in its name? Instead of meaningless names, tell it like it is...~cottager0 -

It's only a name change...:pThey always have to mess with things sooner or later, don't they?! -- what on earth is wrong with a current account having 'Current' in its name? Instead of meaningless names, tell it like it is...
Because it'll fall in line with the rest of the account "range".
So you'll have Basic, Select, Select Silver, Gold, Black.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

The changes will affect the Step account more than anything I think. I can see Natwest recieving lot's of complaints on there changes especially on the step account. I for one am dissapointed and it could be only a matter of time before I switch back to Barclays. Thank god for back up accounts.!It takes two to tango!:rotfl:0

Existing accounts are unaffected. New applicants will know what they're applying for.0
