  • £1 for me today please. Money will go in the pot till the end of the month and pay of cc. So annoying that I set up dd but if I PAD during the month they deduct whatever's been paid in. I'm sure it's so I don't reduce the debt quicker

I *think* the amounts on DDs get confirmed about 3 days before they are due to come out, so you could try extra PADs in those three days if you want to pay extra? Just a thought. xx

Made a PAD today of £1.23 to MBNA.

Had a lovely day out with mum and the older ladies from a local club on a coach shopping trip. All was going very well till I spotted a massive 4 story Primark then the MSE in me gave up, lol. Managed to end up at the till on every floor:eek:. Actually treat myself to a few bits and bobs for a change instead of just the kids, no idea when the last time I actually had any new clothes. got some winter boots, matching underwear set (never been heard of in this house) and phoned my OH and twisted his arm to by me a new coat for Christmas, so I'm a very happy bunny today. Also got the kids their Christmas PJ's and some cheapo joggers.

Padding therefore will be at a minimum for the next week or two.

    Of course....welcome to Padders anonymous..

I am a huge fan of the snowball since it giving me the kick up h the debt busting proverbial I needed of late....and best thing is due to the snowball my whoopsie macbook I got in feb/march will be paid off by the end of the year :T....then onto the OD :D. Only been padding on it for about 6 weeks. So long as CCF don't muck up the final settlement all will be well:)

Phone whoever the loan is with...then snowball....

Hope that helps :)...if you can't make extra payments put your loan into a high interest savings account then pay off early (like NS or something which is harder to access than a regular bank account - or else get an ISA and shred the card/pin when you get it :)) but sure you can work something out and that folk on here will be able to help..

A lot of folk have had to work out padding on difficult things...

    Hello

    I'm the counter-upper for this month :D

I found PAD in November of 2008 and managed to pay off all my debt (over £9000) before I turned 30 in December last year. I was debt-free for six months and, as you'll see from my signature, am back in debt again thanks to buying [strike]my baby[/strike] my wee car. I'm back PADding to that loan now and can strongly recommend PADding - I think I've missed less than 10 days since November 2008 and that's mainly due to being on holiday/away from t'internet :rotfl:

The only one I couldnt snowball is the loan via mum. I need to get the details for how to pay off extras from the virgin cc

I like the idea of paying something regularly otherwise you get a dip after all your dd's go out on payday. Great idea:beer:

You can snowball that one, I owed my friend some money for a holiday so I put it in at 0% interest and a min payment of whatever I wanted to make sure I pay him :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hey everyone, i am new to this thread.:hello:

I have a Northern Rock loan of £15,000 (the only debt i have, except for the mortgage) and would love to chip away at it.
I have looked at the paperwork (from the people that own it now :rotfl:) and it says that i can make extra payments. At the moment i am paying £180 a month by dd.

My question is to those with loans (not credit cards)...how do you apply padding? Do you put money into a pot and them pay towards the loan every month or once a year? I haven't rung them yet but are lenders generally ok with small regular top-up payments?
