so. at feeding time, encourage him to jump up on the chair, and reward him for it. then reward him for sitting on it for 3 seconds, then 5 seconds, then 10 seconds. then start pottering about the kitchen as if you're about to prepare the food, all the while rewarding him every 10 seconds or so for staying on the chair, but try not to give him any clues as to when you're about to reward him - just make it seem random as long as he's sitting on the chair.
Loving the cat talk! I think my cats would just sit on the chairs and yowl for dinner. It would be like, a better vantage point for them! Siamese cats tend to be very vocal, but you just get used to it after a while.
On the plus side, you can do this with them:

Hiya All
I am a newbie to the Pading, but seriously sounds twee but have never heard of a better thing in my life, am reading through all the posts (currently on page 38) and am so inspired. Have just put £1 into pot to clear 1st cc with Halicrap i will then move onto 2nd cc then to loan, i will also include though my regular payments to each. I am not going to include my o/d as i am trying to clear this naturally, and have also rejoined the grocery challenge for oct (or i will do anyway once the thread starts).
I will everyday clear anything under 10p out of my purse and into my pot and pay this off every week or two when i can get into town. Am now seriously thinking i could be debt free.
Many Thanks to all
Dreamer
Edit: Posted before i changed my sig, to reprioritise my debts - Cheers now first to go is 1st cc at £1079.23Jan 2025 £26561.43/£0. I want to clear £9000 this year (2025)0 -

You are doing so well Miss kay tee...Check out the stop smoking thread....it's on here....you'll find it so helpful...Sue is real gem....when I was falling out with the rest of MSE some months ago Sue was always there for me.....And even she doesn't have a scooby about e-cigs her and I just disagree then laugh together over the matter. She is truly a gem....
Also check out http://www.sparkpeople.com for free healthy eating weight loss. I'm going to get back on it once the change in AD's has happened (cos it's impossible to lose weight or even stick to SP calories on Mirtazapine)...though I don't expect to lose much and I shan't weigh myself for ages cos like i'll just be happy to stick to the calorie plan....
Hugs
Now to PM Allie

Happy Birthday Erme!!!
Loving all the cat talk/pictures/videos. My cat sadly died a fortnight ago, I've had her since being a child so was very upsetting. If I had dared to try and make her do the cancan though my hand would be in shreds :rotfl:Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
happy birthday erme!! :bdaycake:
flying_fresian - what a cute cat! isn't it funny how they love bags
thevinternet - echo is sooo sweet!! i'm sure that if you trained your cats all those other things then you have a good training technique and you'd be able to do the sitting on the chair thing! obviously don't reward when he meows, but he'll probably be so confused as to what you're doing that he won't meow for a while anyway, he'll just sit there baffled and getting treats every 3 seconds!
also if you have a routing then maybe try and do the training earlier than his usual feeding time? so if you usually feed him at 7pm maybe the first day or two try it at 5.30 or 6pm, then he might not be so desperate for food cos he doesn't realise it's feeding time yet, and are more likely to sit quietly and get a big bowl of food at the end... just a thought. just trying to persuade you cos it's really incredible when it works
£5 again from me to virgin cc!
