Survived the first day back at school but it's gloomy outside and my mood is reflecting that. Dunno what's wrong with me!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

On the surplus apples subject, I've now turned mine into pectin for future jam making.
How to details can be found here
I've now got a couple of lots frozen in ice cub bags - saves spending extra money on sugar with added pectin.
Thanks, Nyk, and when I went on your blog I found lots of other interesting stuff....
Well done, Sandra, on that weight loss.
Hugs to all that need them in this gloomy weather!
Today I finally snapped and left TalkTalk for another ISP. The service hasn't been great and the price, which is already high, is about to rise yet again  so now it's going to be Walk-Walk. I suppose I should be glad for this last rise, it's nudged me into doing something I know I should have done ages ago.'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

Hi everyone, sorry to hear your trouble Lola.... Am glad tomhearbyour weightless Sandra!
I'm doing my best with the weightless and frugalnes.... I've been out in the woods sat and mon coppicing at a community volunteer project... So doing exercise and getting logs for free! Carrying them back to the car is also serious weightlifting.
In charity shops after found an embroidery hoop stand for £5.00 -same on eBay 2nd hand for almost £30!! I've wanted/needed one for ages so couldn't be happier.
Re apples... We have far too many, and no room in the freezer to freeze any. All I really want is apple sauce for pie filling and topping porridge... I can't find conclusively if I can jar that... Anyone have any idea?Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
Brrrrrrrr its cold this morning!!!! even the kittens are refusing to go out and since they had their first taste of freedom I have been unable to keep them in. They have taken to playing round the plant pots and playing peek a boo from underneath the upturned wheelbarrow that seems to have taken up permanent residence on the patio.
DH rang me from work to say "if your going to your mates for coffee don't get used to the heating as we can't afford to put ours on yet" :rotfl:
DS got a grade C GCSE maths result which I thought was really good as he is only 14. Apparently they let them do them younger and they can retake them if they need to. He was only 2 marks off a B so I am really proud :T
My thoughts today are with the people who have to face the jobcentre/job agencies. From what I am hearing the people employed in these places are getting above rude and can be down right insulting. I had a couple of neighbours who lost their jobs last month and have worked all their lives who retire in a couple of years. Walking into the jobcentre is bad enough but being treat like a criminal and spoken to as if your five is going too far.
Good luck to everyone out looking for a job !!!
