Well we have our ups and downs like most people but that's real life :)
Had to edit my post though, it's 22 years this year not 23. I am hopeless with dates :D
Ooh slowly your wedding will be here before you know it!

  • Hi all. If you nip over to the Grabbit board on forums, you'll find a thread for a free 855 gram tin of Celebration Choccies! :j:j:j Some other kindly soul posted a free delivery code, and, as you have to physically buy something, I bought some computer screen wipes for 83p - and that is what I paid through Paypal in total!!!!!!!!!

I'm intending to keep these choccies as a Christmas Gift, but - who am I kidding! These'll be gone long before.

    Good luck everyone.

  • Hi there,

Just on my holidays and having a great time at home before my actual trip away... I was out foraging on the fells and got a load of crab apples bilberrys and blackberries.

Made some chutney with the crab apples its nice!.(was shocked it was so nice!!) Wonder if anyone else knows of any other crab apple recipies before they disappear altogether?

Those chocolates sound great, going to check it out now...

    Hello everyone.

I've had a good few days with not too many pennies spent.

On Monday I went to an introductory day for a training for trainers course challenging stigma and promoting well being in Mental Health. Sounds really good and I feel confident I should have a place on the course that starts in the middle of September.

After the course I had my first swim in over two weeks as I have been unwell all that time with this buggy thing - finally went to the doctors who diagnosed sinusitis and prescribed me antibiotics.

Tuesday I had a lovely walk in the ran with my walking group - first time since March I've got back there due to my foot injury.

Came across a lovely church I hadn't seen before.

Yesterday I visited my elderly neighbour and then had a swim.

Was trying to tidy but didn't get far!

Lola hope puddy cat comes home soon -such a worry.

Aah Dizzy I do think you're in love!xxx

    Oh it's Lola - Optimistic.

    It's such a worry isn't it!

I've got four and one of mine went missing for a night and a morning after being diagnosed with a liver tumour.

I knocked on all the doors of the neighbouring streets and when I got home she was sitting there eating her dinner.

Now one of mine's just given me a heart attack jumping out of the bedroom window and onto the roof!

Wow, Chika, I'm so impressed by your furniture bargains! :TAnd just the teeniest bit envious.

Lola - I hope the cat shows up soon! I used to have a dog who was as crafty and roving as any cat. At first I wasn't prepared because he was far more athletic than my previous dog and expert at climbing fences - I suffered agonies until he was safely home again. But they usually do come home. Fingers crossed.

Skint but Optimistic: you can make crab apple jelly, with or without some of your blackberries. The pulp has to be strained out, but you can put it on the compost heap. Don't be tempted to squeeze the muslin or the jelly bag: ;) it'll speed up the process but your jelly will be cloudy (still edible, though). :D

I feel like Jesse on one of his diets: this week I am mainly eating marrows. I've had steamed marrow, oven-roasted marrow, marrow with cous-cous and tinned tuna and I am about to make marrow pickle. After that it's marrow lemon curd. By the time that's done, there'll be more[STRIKE] courgettes[/STRIKE] marrows ready for use. :rotfl:

  • Placed my order for wipes, and free choccies, yesterday afternoon, and it has arrived!!!!
