    Hello fellow frugallers:j
I am back from my wanderings in Shropshire:D We had one big spend whilst there with a trip to the Blackcountry Museum but that kept us out of mischief for 5 hours so was money well spent. Aside from that we enjoyed a couple of family walks, nosing around free museums and churches [I am very keen on greenmen] and making good use of our NT cards. We self catered all week but did treat ourselves to a cuppa and a bun some days. I also raided the charity shops and topped up my blue wool- the blanket for the small person is coming along a treat and I am finding it very therapeutic. I'm too much of a fidget bottom for meditation.

Back to real life this week- I'm going to find out about how to put a decent CV together as I've not had to look at mine for 8 years and I'm going to see about signing on. I'll only get NI conts but hope to be able to use the Next Step service.
Hugs to all- have had to skim read as there were several pages to catch up on.

Dizzy that is the smilie I usually use when I describe my tidying tactics!

Hello everyone and welcome back from hols!

I made a lovely roast and delicious hybrid lemon polenta/lemon drizzle cake.

Finally got round to planting out plants I bought ages ago!

    Always so tardy about it!

    Hello

Can I shorten that to optimistic?!:rotfl:

  • Hi optimistic and welcome. Am I reading your signature correctly? Was your debt nearly £77K in April this year and you've already reduced it to less than half of that?

Please explain if I've got it all wrong (more than likely!) but if it's right, well done and how did you do it!

Off to take Wedgie to the vets in a while - that's the one with the thyroid problem.

I think I will look into her having the op although it is a worry.

I have been fluey for over a week now.

Still coughing and spluttering and headachy!

  • HI there, you can certainly call me optimistic, but I am still Skint!

Yes it was, together with our regular payments there was some general money wrangling regarding a house sale / purchase and I was able to clear 22k of debt in one fell swoop, with accepted f&F offers (backed up in writing) for 8.5k.

I would ebay the world if I could and I am doing strict budgets and batch cooking and buying things with yellow stickers alot. :-)
