Congratulations seriouslyfrugal!
Welcome Zaksmum.
I am pleased as I had an excellent appointment with my wonderful psychiatrist and he has agreed to reduce my medication.
I wanted to treat myself to soup at the Georgian cafe but they were out of it, so then I went to the farm for a fry up and they were out of sausages so I thought I'd go to the Sally Army Charity Shop and get something in the cafe there but the cafe had just closed!
So that was one way to save money.:rotfl:
I had a mini spend on two glass jars with stoppers 75p each - I am building up a collection of these -they are so useful and also a lovely candle stick for a pound.
These mini spends are keeping me sane I think - I am viewing them as my pocket money.
I've just bought some mackerel from the fishmongers for my dinner as although Friday night is usually home alone cobble night I'd already had cobble lunch and fancied something more substantial. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

I had a very strange morning. A man I used to work with was accused of inappropriate behaviour where I used to work. As I was witness to two years of bullying against this person (they are trying to find any excuse to get rid of him) I thought it was only right I went in as his witness. Luckily he was allowed to take someone of his choosing that did not have to work there. Anyway I went in armed with a list of inappropriate behaviour by several of the managers and pointed out there could not be double standards regarding what gets swept under the carpet and what doesn't. I think they were all surprised to see me turn up lol (I am not known for keeping my opinions to myself) After spending a couple of hours squashing every allegation they had no alternative to let him off with a verbal warning :j his colleagues were to scared to stand up for him in fear of losing their jobs and I worry how bad things will get in any workplace as employers know people are desperate to keep employed........worrying times.
Nothing to do with money saving but it felt good to help someone so distraught. However he is buying me a bottle of voddy as a thank you so it is a money saving of sorts
A lot of decorating on a shoestring going on at the moment and I am fed up with the smell of paint.0 -

Well done Paidin that is brilliant!
I used to run a prison visitors' centre for a charity and was disciplined for reporting a dead rat found in the coffee bar to Environmental Health.
I also worked as a Mental Health Act Manager which was a voluntary position I was paid for; one of the other managers was totally outraged and was a great support at my disciplinary.
However it was only a carefully crafted letter written with help from supportive collegues and sent to the Trustees that initiated the withdrawal of the warning and the apology I requested - oh and also the fact that I was also able to prove that my manager was lying about details of the event through documentation I had kept! Here dead we lie because we did not choose

:APaidin, you epitomise what is Great in Great Britain. You could have passed by on the other side, but, like the Good Samaritan, you stood up not only for your colleague, but for what you believe in.
:A:A:A:A:A:A Three cheers for Paidin!!!
Welcome to any Newbies, pull up a chair, and pour yourself a cuppa! Tumpty, I had tears in my eyes reading your post, and that your LO doesn't have any friends back to play with. How great that he has such a kind and loving Mum.
Have a good weekend everyone, and may we stay riot-free.
