I'm always left feeling that I want more from these 'cherry' programs, and some I argue with, tonight I liked it, it would be really good if the subject could be taken further... like dies the wag wannabe get her rich man, and also show her that the £200 spent in the salon could be put to better use.

I cried during the time with the girl from merthyr , it was when they went shopping that got me.

I will need to watch again as I missed the one who went 'skipping' for food..

Is this a series then? If so - anyone got any links to previous ones please?:)

Just a heads up that Lidl are doing the AA Great Britain and Ireland Road Atlas 2012 for £1.79 this week :money:

  • Thanks for your kind welcome messages

I had a surprising NSD yesterday even though I expected an expensive evening........ I went to the nieces 20th birthday dinner with son number 1 and warned him not to order the most expensive dishes and limit drinks etc - at the end of the meal though my tipsy brother in law picked up the whole bill = £600!!!! If I'd have known he was paying BEFORE I ordered I'd have had a different selection entirely

I also baked and decorated a cake for her as part of her present (keeping the present cost down) - she was delighted with the thought and effort that went into it and loved her video message from my toddler singing happy birthday - he was tucked up at home in bed :) at the time

I am planning a NSD today too - just working from home with a stocked up fridge, freezer and larder so no reason to get the pennies out unless teenager conjures up something he wants/needs

I've just cleared my £15k V1rgin credit card debt to £0 so will be ringing them later to see what offers they can provide on balance transfers - in the spirit of the credit card shuffle - wish me luck
    V1irgin c card £15k(ish) now £0!!!
Lloyds Credit card £2439.07 now £2413.66
Halifax credit card £5355.15 now £5355.15
MINT credit card £3619 now £3619
Lloyds Personal loan £20306.94 now £19842.68
    TOTAL £467200 now £31230.49

I've seen 2 maybe 3 different episodes that she does, they where abt pregnancy then breastfeeding then parenting, this is the first that I've seen her do on money... their was no info on saving, investing or anything like that, it was really just showing u how some people live, one woman who made millions looking at an 8 million pound new house, the woman in merthyr who has 7 kids, doesn't take/get benefits and works, think she said she earns abt £100 a week, if she didn't work shed be better off... the wag wannabe...

I could not have watched the wag wannabe, I would have wanted her to give her head a shake.

Home made chocolate cake for dessert. Im weak and crave a takeaway though! Its been about three months since my last takeaway!

i just signed up to topcashback and have bought RAC breakdown cover through them. if it tracks that'll be cover for under 5.00 this year, or 28.00 if it doesnt, which is WAY cheaper than Direct Line's 'automatic renewal' of 150!!! Thank heavens for MSE Martin!

Still trying to keep the food bill low. The freezer is full, so now only need to get essentials, eg potatoes, milk and bread. Trying to keep the bill down for 2 weeks hopefully.

Might have a 2 week temp job. Still waiting for my agency to email me details. Working Sunday, doing my casual work. Thankfully it is local. They give people lunch, which is a bonus.

Still trying to declutter. Only doing it slowly. Can't believe what I have in the flat.

Great recycling Mooloo with the duvet cover- would never have thought about bed linen as a source of fabric, glad you made it to the Fringe Rising from the Ashes and thrifty work 23rd Spiral with your Rac

More gnat bottomed techniques being brought into play here today- made some headway with my CV. They always take so much longer than I think they will- have some ideas but not a lot got written down today:o Popped into the town this afternoon and struck lucky- our local CS had a very smart Next suit for £15 and a spotless white longsleeved tshirt from M&S for 99p- all suitable gear for an interview hopefully when I get one!

Was most naughty and spent £6.99 in The Works on a huge pot of rainbow coloured wooden beads [different styles and sizes aswell as colours]- there was method in my madness as I was going to buy buttons to make a heart for a swap I'm participating in on another forum but they would have cost the same and I'd only have had a fraction of the number. This pack also came with different threads which I will be able to use to make jewellery as presents.

Well got Wedgie to the vets today after prising her out from under the sofa!

Well done on your suit Aril.

I bought a lovely willow pattern plate from the second hand shop yesterday to add to my collection and promptly dropped in Tesco and cracked it!

Yup, "looked" at mine a couple of months ago and started to re-do it - still not finished:( (another thing to add to a list).

It's been a long day - was up at 4 am:eek: and couldn't get back to sleep (too much on my mind) so feeling pretty beat now.

Got the huge pot of spag bol sauce made with the last of the mince so will get that put into portions and frozen tomorrow.

Making progress on the preparing for winter list - my spreadsheet has grown and now have separate pages for different things (house, food, pets etc) - a bit like the SoW!

Cleared a cupboard for my emergency toiletry/kitchen/bathroom supplies (at 5am) and now have these safely put away after a trip to Home Bar*gains - feeling a bit better.

Although I can easily get food (pet & human) delivered mid October, I really wanted to stock up on the above as they're sooooo much cheaper at places like HB than in the supermarkets.
