Purchased my first groupon deal yesterday, paid £35 for 2 weeks of deluxe fruit n veg box with meat, the offer also includes eggs and bread each week. I called the company before I paid to check if it could get delivered, I'm too far out the way, but their shop is only 10mins walk from uni, , and also we don't eat beef and she said that they don't get too much beef, box will contain 20% beef in the meat section, but mostly lamb, pig n chicken, all organically fed etc... I'm sharing it with my parents, so won't be too much food going to waste.

Done a major mistake at work, I somehow forgot to check the front door was locked it that the shutter was down. Initially I was very annoyed at myself, but as the week has gone on, and the boss has bn telling everyone, I'm getting more... angry I think... their was 2 of us working, she let the last people out, she should have pulled down the shutter n locked up but hasn't. I do lock up but I don't get paid any more than minimum wage, yet I am responsible for the security of the place and my own personal security, especially as I do work myself one nite a week as well as working with someone on a Saturday ... I'm tempted to go see what I should be 'entitled' to in this situation, but know is be out if a job if I rock the boat, and taking it further would cost everyone their jobs, as the place doesn't make a fortune..... not that I think I am due more, but I remember from my past a friend got extra due to being a key keeper.:..

Have fun at the festival 23rd...

    Welcome to all the newbies...

Tumpty, I keep meaning to say, add tea tree essential oil to a bucket if hot water and use that to clean everywhere, and put it neat on a cloth and wipe skirting boards, entrances as mice hate the stuff.

I bought one of those barrels of beads, they're great. I made loads of Christmas decorations with them last year and they look gorgeous. Well worth the money. Everyone commented on how cute they were :j

Sorry to ask, but I would love to try and do a bit of crafting, what sort of decorations did you make? I am not very artistic but my mother is, I could get her some and we could do some crafty work together. We knitted some Christmas tree decorations the other year and enjoyed that so this could be another project we could share. It will keep her occupied in the long winter nights when she wont be able to get out in her garden and greenhouse.
    thank you

I threaded beads onto some copper wire that we stripped out from some old cables [waste not want not] and then bent it into a heart shape. You could also stitch felt shapes and stitch beads on or thread beads onto a long piece of thread to make garlands for your tree instead of tinsel. Also found this link which may be of use

we had a lovely relaxing couple of days away at my folks - they live in Plymouth which has a free 1920's outdoor pool! It was freezing (so I am told by my 8 year old :-) )

Are you talking about Tinside Lido? I did not know it was free now, I had to pay to go in when I lived there! But then, it is a saltwater pool so can't say I'm too keen to repeat the experience - even if it is free :p

Hiya Jil. If you click on the icon that looks like two balloons (qoute marks) on each message that you want to copy/quote when you click reply to the thread, the messages clicked to quote will come up. Will only quote a certain number each time though. You can also edit them by deleting which parts of the message you don't want to quote and only leaving part of the message you're refering to.
Hope that makes sense, I'm by no means technically minded :)

I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

Girlie gets her AS results in a few minutes!
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.
