big frugal fail, I feel a bit out of control with my spending (and eating) need to sort it out, I'm just worried about so much, and my knee is worse so I can't go running which always makes me feel in control and better.
I think the cat has bad teeth and the vet said that could cost up to £400 :-( She probably only has a year or so left in her anyway she is ancient. Not sure what to do for the best. Her quality of life is good apart from only being able to eat liquidised cat food, her fur is gleaming, she is blind, likes sunbathing and sleeping and doing old cat things, I don't think it's right to put her down. I get the wrong type of benefits to take her to the PDSA.

Sorry to hear about your knee tumpty. Blue is often used in colour therapy as a cooling effect and good for inflammations. You could maybe visualise this healing colour around the pain, and seeping into your bone.
Your poor cat too. PDSA will treat pets if owners are in receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit, but like you say, no use if you don't qualify. Is it worth ringing the citizens advice on this? I'm sure she'd let you know in some way if she was in pain though. Really hope you can sort something out.

    Hope everyone is safe tonight.
    This country is a mess.
    WHERE ARE THE PARENTS!??
Massive hugs to anyone near or have family near any of these hotspots.

The police, n fire service need help. And as many have said on fb, if this was any other country, the army would have been involved long ago, and maybe half of London would not be burning.

Rising from the ashes, the bed has bn £600 in john Lewis n places like that for abt 6 months now, I have bn waiting on it coming down in price. It's one if those mid high ones, need to climb the ladder, underneath it has book case, wardrobe , drawers and a pull out side table. It's all oak, the shop only has that, and loads of other stuff on sale, as they need to refurb the building, its abt to fall down I think! used to be an old dance hall,.
I don't mind, to an extent, paying for quality, I do think 600 is far too much for it all, I still think 300 is still too much, but also know that is probably the lowest I'm going to find it.

Need to get the news turned off n get to sleep, the mindlessness of it all is making me angry...

  • noisy here in Bristol and my sister is in London so it's going to be a hard night.
  • Hope everyone managed to get some sleep if you're in a "noisy" spot and all OK - people with nothing better to do, just looking for an excuse to "make bother". Disgusting. I too agree that the army should be used, however, they're so stretched fighting overseas that it leaves little resources to help out at home when needed.

Lola the parents couldn't care less and just let their kids do whatever they want, as it's what they did when younger - one of the big problems in our society.

Sandra sorry about your day out but I think you've been very wise as it'd be a nightmare getting caught up in that. As you say, Brighton will still be there for a trip at another time.

Tumpty hope you & sister are OK. Re the cat, have you tried pate type food for her? It's a mush to start with - you can get it most supermarkets but Mr As do 4 Hi-life tins for £1 and they're really mushy!

Well, sun is out:) and looking forward to my day in town with DM - will let you know all about it later!

    Very depressing times here.

My local shops were shut yesterday due to rioting.

Luckily I was able to make a lovely spicey carrot and lentil soup as I've been ill and haven't left the house since Saturday night.

Hope everyone else is safe and well!

    hello to everyone.

Came to work as usual, dropped OH in Hackney. Have got an email via freecycle that tottenham is organising to give to those who've lost everything.

Will be popping some things into seven sisters road tonight and expect a nsd today. Who wants to be out after 6?

Anyway my cupboards are full as is my freezer too so sure I can see a fish pie tonight.

    Best wishes to all affected!!!

Rosie my friend lives just behind the High Road and arrived back from Norfolk last night to this!

She has lived in Tottenham all her life.

    It's just awful!

I'm hoping Hackney will be calm today - I have to go into town for acupuncture and want to be able to get home.

My son couldn't get home last night but luckily had somewhere to stay!

I cannot believe what I've seen on the news. I live a few miles from Romford, and apparently windows of several large stores have been smashed, Debenhams, Asda etc and looting has been taking place.

But I'm so shocked by how young some of these children are. The ironic thing is that those who are destroying their own neighbourhood, may well be destroying each others' homes, or those of relatives and friends, and they have certainly ruined the infrastructure.

I was taking a friend out for her birthday on Saturday to a show in London, but I'd rather waste the money, than worry how we're going to get home, even though we're going to a matinee. They don't seem to be waiting for darkness to fall, before the rioting begins.

Can't get that picture of a woman jumping from a blazing building in Croydon, out of my mind. Hope everyone on here, and their friends and relations stay safe.

    xx

SandraScarlett - I also live a few miles from Romford. Somewhat scarey when it is too close too home. My agency has put me forward to a temp job in Romford. Hopefully things will calm down soon. Hoping everyone keeps safe.

    Hi to all,

I was thinking that Romford is a nicer area and maybe my car insurance will be cheaper.

I have seen that the residents of croydon are ready to tidy up. I think it's best that get back to normal as soon as possible.

I am afraid to say those sorts of people were already in Tott and causing trouble before. As I said before my beloved picanto was keyed and have had windows smashed.

Anyway, can buy things when I want them and don't need to steal.

Stay safe guys' it will all be finished soon. Rant over !!!

Back to the fish pie soon.
